I = Interviewer, B = Beverley Goodman

I: Today I’m with Beverley Goodman. Beverley, what do you do exactly?

B: I’m a marine archaeologist. I work for National Geographic and I study places
under the sea.

I: Where do you work? In an office?

B: I have one but I don’t work in an office very often. I’m usually on a boat or
under the sea.

I: What time do you start work?

B: Well, it depends. On the boat, I get up at just after five o’clock. I work with a
team of other marine biologists and I meet everyone for breakfast at about seven.
During breakfast, we talk about the day. After breakfast, I start work. It’s a long
day.

I: Do you work late?

B: On the boats, yes, but I don’t finish late when I’m at home.

I: Do you have a family?

B: Yes, I live with my husband and my two children. Sometimes my children go to

work with me. They love the boats!
