DAILY JOURNAL

June 20, 2022 Monday

OJT Day 1! We had our orientation headed by Sir Franz at Julimons Enterprises located at Sta. Filomena,
Iligan City. He briefly discussed the rules and regulations and answered some questions. We proceed to
our main OJT site at Julimons Nature Park located at Brgy. Tawan-Tawan, Initao, Misamis Oriental. As we
settled our things in the designated area, we roamed around the area. We are excited because we saw
many livestock animals that is related to our majored course, and also farm machineries that we hoped
to try during our OJT. We had another orientation headed by the farm technicians. They introduced
themselves and shared about the insights and what we should expect to learn during our 320 hours OJT.

Started our daily task, I was assigned at the Brooder. I have learned that you should always mix Animal-
Vita to their waterers and Amox to the weak ones. When checking every boxes, we noted every
mortality for inventory purposes. Then we should feed them every 7:30am after assembly, 1pm and
4pm. For the first time, I have tried plough “DARO”. I thought it was easy as I what I have saw in the
videos but it is hard as it seems when you are doing it for the first time. It was a great experience.

After our daily task, we proceed to the Incubator Room to check the eggs. Because of the lack of
facilities in our school, it is the first time that have experienced a proper candling. We checked if the
eggs are still fertile by determining its features while lighting it with a flashlight. The infertile ones are
packed and will be sent to Iligan City for consumption purposes.

June 23, 2022 Thursday

As instructed yesterday, we did our assigned task in preparation for the expected guests this coming
Saturday. We bought 25 sacks of rice hulls then cleaned the RTL (Ready To Lay) area.

June 24, 2022 Friday

Due of the lack of manpower, Sir Jeff decided to gather everyone and do the tasks in each area
altogether. Because of the changes, the task was easily completed with the help of everybody.
Teamwork is always effective when we do properly.

June 25, 2022 Saturday

Guests arrive at Julimons Nature Park. Sir Raymond, the owner, tour them around and explained each
livestock available here. At the function hall, they discussed what is Julimons and their other facilities
available like the farm machineries. There are also guests who bought Goat Soap and Fresh Eggs. The
event was fun because we experienced getting along with the guests and tried to sell them the goods of
Julimons.

We gathered chickens because it will be delivered to the Stock farm at Bukidnon. There are 114 crates
that contains 10 Gallus gallus per crate. They need atleast 1.5kg per chickens. The boys are the ones who
carries and stack each crate at the truck. We finished around 12am.

2nd week, another rotation for the assigned assignments. This time, I got assigned at the Grower 2 with
Chustine and Ben Tot. Our work got a little bit slower because there are so many waterers in that area
that is why it took us time to finish it. Since the Brooder area got crowded, it is scheduled to transfer in
our area. Before transferring, we cleaned the fence first then disinfect it to avoid diseases. We also
washed the feeders because the dungs that got stuck to it is already thick. For the waterers, we added
Amox then shake it well.

June 28, 2022 Tuesday

In the assembly, Sir Jeff left a quote that camaraderie is important, to submit yourself in all times
because even though your task is just simple, it is still important. “Small roles are also important roles”.
After the daily tasks, we had an orientation about the Genetics of the Livestock’s that is available in
Julimons. The orientation is headed by Sir Edmond and Sir Johnny. We talked about the Genetic
Bloodline of the chickens, goats, sheep, snake and also the carabao. They also give us some
information’s on how to identify each breed, their origins and shared their experiences about the
livestocks. At the evening, I was rushed to the hospital due to shortness of breath and trembling of
hands. I also experienced pain in urinating that concluded to UTI.

June 29, 2022 Wednesday

I was at the hospital until afternoon. I really wanted to go home. All of the staffs in the hospital is not
approachable. They got some blood and injected something like pain relievers, I don’t know. All I think is
going home, that’s all. When Sir Edmond fetched us, they instructed me to rest.

The usual, assembly. (CP)

July 01, 2022 Friday

For the filler job, we cleaned and fixed the area of the dragon fruit area by removing the excess weeds.
At the Grower 2, we decided to sort and transfer each chickens according to its size. It is because the
smaller chickens got stomped by the bigger chickens that leads to another mortality. As for the other
groups, I observed them take some Azolla for it to be mixed to the feed.

July 02, 2022 Saturday

After the daily tasks, we had an opportunity to have a training with the Tesda. We learned about the
proper soil preparations, kinds of soils, organic and natural crops. We planted some seeds like the
squash and many more. She also shared her experiences in agriculture like how she started and many
more. I have learned that in contouring the land preparation, you should use rice hulls for it to absorb
the acidic soil.
