PROJECT SUMMARY

As business analysts, we closely understood the processes and requirements to make an investment in to fixed deposit

for HDFC bank.

Fixed deposit can be done in 2 ways:

Existing
1. Through offline fixed deposit at a bank, once the customer visits the bank the entire scheme of FD is explained by

Alternatives
the bank executive.
2. HDFC online deposit services. In this the customer visits the HDFC bank website.

Long waiting in queues can reduce customer satisfaction and ultimately lead to customers not taking FD from the

bank.
Effects
As everything was offline, multiple customers could not be addressed at one time which might lead to loss of money

and losing the trust of its clients by turning away customers

Multiple manual data processing and verification

Problems Higher transaction time required – Slow processes and requirement of more staff
With advancement of technology, traditional method was needed to be replaced with modern method to attract

more customers

For HDFC fixed deposit we analyzed the stages in the entire process, identified problems, and provided a full analysis

on improving the processes and how it would affect the overall flow of the FD process.
Deliverables
Each business requirement has been observed and analyzed using SMART observations. We have done process

Mapping of the original and new through Swimlane flows, flows and interactions through Use Case Interaction

Diagram, and Use Cases with their prioritizations.
