1 Executive Summary of the project
HDFC is a leading bank that has problems with the lengthy processing times for fixed deposits. Due to this,
the company has been losing money and the trust of its clients by turning away customers. They thus
recruited a business analyst to study their operational procedures carefully, spot issues, and automate
procedures to speed up processing.
The BA will thoroughly understand the processes and requirements, analyze the phases, pinpoint issues
(such as redundant procedures or long lead times), and thoroughly analyze the benefits and drawbacks of
automating the processes. Original and novel processes are mapped using Swimlane flows, Use Case
Interaction Diagrams for flows and interactions, and Use Cases with prioritized use cases.

• Once the process of opening the FD account is underway, if the customer requests to revoke it or
make changes to previously filled data due to an unexpected circumstance, there is no system to
accommodate that; the changes will be made once the process is complete.
• The customer is unaware of the updates or approvals of the FD and related Processes, which
results in the non-standardization of the process completion and the likelihood of human error
• The customer must fill out the form and give it to the clerk, who then gives it to the finance
department. This creates a duplication process and lengthens the time it takes to deposit the FD.
• The client can only collect a small amount of data, and there is no real-time information update.
There is restricted access to the information when he contacts customer care or the clerk to
inquire about the most recent document revisions and policies.
• The FD physical technique lacks a tracking mechanism.

6 Prioritization of the use cases (in terms of criticality – High medium-Low)
We can evaluate use cases based on four criteria:
Customer priority - Importance of the use case to the business, and the urgency to have its
functionality
Risk- Need to recognize risk early. Managed closely.
Complexity – a measure of difficulty (requirements and development)
Dependencies – Need to know the connections.
Also, other probable criteria are:
• Ease of Deployment
• Ease of Development
