I. Introductory Concept
Weather is the state of the atmosphere at a particular time and place. It
is described in terms of different conditions such as temperature, humidity,
wind velocity, precipitation, and barometric pressure. Weather on Earth
occurs primarily in the troposphere, or lower atmosphere, and is driven by
energy from the Sun and the rotation of the Earth. The average weather
conditions of a region over time are used to define a region's climate.
Weather reflects the short-term conditions of the atmosphere. It is what
you see outside on a particular day like sunny, cloudy, stormy, windy and
rainy. Any change in the components of weather would mean also a
change in weather conditions. Due to these changes, there is a need for all
of us to be prepared by being familiar with the different safety precautions
for all types of weather conditions.
