Multiple entry residence permits (Visas)

All our international employees who have completed the initial visa process have a multiple entry residence permit
also known as an "employment visa" in their passport. This visa has been issued by the Municipal Public
Security Bureau (PSB) but has been applied for and sponsored by the company.

When an international employee resigns before their contract expiration we ask that they submit their passport
for visa cancellation and conversion to Stay Permit. This is part of EF's standard exit procedures and the cost
is deducted from their final pay. It is the company's responsibility to cancel the visa when the work relationship
is over. The various government bureaus have asked us to strictly comply with this procedure.

It is the center or line manager's responsibility to discuss this cancellation process with their departing
staff. After discussion, arrangements can be made with the regional visa officer.

Stay Permit will be a zero entry visa (i.e. departing employee can only leave the country and not re-enter).
We are not allowed to apply for any other type. Should the departing staff want to return to China, he/she will
need to apply for a new visa. The duration of Stay Permit and the process to obtain it are different
per region. The basic details are below. Please discuss with departing employee and coordinate with
your regional visa officer.
