Current Project Strengths

Strength #1 Since I have many years of experience teaching elementary

classes, I am very familiar with the various curricula that my

school uses. This will help immensely when choosing various

technologies for the different classes.

Strength #2 I am the Elementary Team Lead for my school, I have

experience meeting different needs for each elementary

classroom. This project just expands the type of needs.

Strength #3 The entire faculty is excited to learn new technology and pair

technology with different lessons. Each teacher is very open to

having an Ed Tech Coach.

Current Project Weaknesses

Weakness #1 Since I have taught on the elementary level for many years, I

will need to find technology that is appealing to middle and high

school aged students. I don’t want those students to think of the

technology as too juvenile.

Weakness #2 Since this new position is a part-time position, time will be

limited. This could create stress in trying to meet every teacher’s

needs right away.

Weakness #3 With many different levels of technology knowledge and

“savviness” in the teachers, I won’t be able to use a “one size fits

all” approach with the faculty.

Anticipated Project Opportunities

Opportunity #1 The students in our school will learn many valuable twenty-first

century technology skills.

Opportunity #2 The faculty will be mentored in new technology and supported

in its implementation.

Opportunity #3 There should be more opportunity for collaboration between

faculty and the Ed Tech Coach, between teachers and students,

also among students.

Anticipated Project Threats

Threat #1 Faculty members may feel time pressure and not be willing to

take the time to collaborate with the Ed Tech Coach.

Threat #2 I, as the Ed Tech Coach and STEM teacher, may feel time

pressure, and may feel more obligation toward the STEM

classes. This may result in short-changing the technology in the

classrooms.

Threat #3 School Administration may be unwilling to spend additional

funds for technology that isn’t free.
