Managing Risk and Escalation Presentation Outline

Project Title: Enhancing the Learning Environment with Technology

Overarching Goals

Goal 1: Present project proposal to the Head of School for Academics, Head of Preschool,

Assistant Head of Preschool/Instructional Coach, and Tech Department. This would be a

scheduled meeting in which I would present research and examples on how effective technology

can be in preschool environments.

Goal 2: Once approved, I will work on establishing classroom iPads with Tech departments to

include a few known applications for student-centered learning.

Goal 3: Build a training program/presentation to present to teachers with Tips and Tricks on

iPads in the classroom.

Goal 4: With the assistance of the tech department, I will present information over iPads in the

classroom through tutorials, walk throughs and already created Tips and Tricks videos over

certain apps on the iPads. I would also, record the training and send it out to teachers, in case

they need refreshers throughout the school year. At the end of the training, I would allow for

teachers to play and use the tools. This would allow me to support while information is fresh on

their brains.

Goal 5: Implement iPads into classroom rotational centers to allow for students to develop,

reinforce, and learn in theory working on certain skills.

Milestone Item: Gain approval for iPad Implementation in Preschool classrooms from

stakeholders.

Date: 8-12-22

Milestone Item: Working alongside the Tech department, we would complete the set-up of

classroom iPads to include student friendly applications, as well as known tool used in the

classroom.

Date: 8-19-22

Milestone Item: Research and complete iPad training presentation along with pre-made Tips

and Tricks videos.

Date: 9-7-22

Milestone Item: Host iPad training for preschool teachers. Furthermore, present and support

teachers on the new technology integration into preschool classrooms.

Date: 9-14-22

Milestone Item: All preschool classrooms willingly would be using iPads to enhance the

learning environment through the array of tools and applications built in and taught.

Date: 9-30-22

SWOT analysis

Project Strengths (3)

1. In the implementation of iPads, they allow students to learn at their own pace through

communicating, creating, and exploring on the device.

2. The teachers have the ability to design interactive lessons and activities that meet the

needs of students, as well as making it more engaging for students.

3. Research has proven improvement in the overall learning outcomes of students through

the use of the tech device.

Project Weaknesses (3)

1. Teachers need more time to search and find new apps to address the learning objectives

and changing thematic units.

2. Teachers must create a system to monitor iPad use in the classroom.

3. Unfortunately, iPads are fragile and can break with repairs being costly.

Project Opportunities (3)

1. Teachers have the ability to capture and create digital portfolio for students.

2. It gives the ability to add in a technology center into work/rotational center time.

3. iPads open the possibility for collaborative projects in the classroom.

Project Threats (3)

1. Additional training for teachers who have no known knowledge on how to work iPads.

2. Uncommitted teachers not willing to roll out the iPads in their classrooms due to their

lack of either classroom management or comfort in technology.

3. If parents are not taught to think of iPads as learning tools, they will see working on the

device as pure screen time at school.
