1.2 Scope
Scope of this white paper is to provide:
Overview of Enterprise Command center
Key benefits of Assets Command Center
Functionality of Oracle Assets Command center
Explain data Integration & Refresh process
Enterprise Command center is a hybrid search-analytical database. It organizes complex and varied
data from disparate source systems into a flexible data model that reduces the need for upfront
modeling. Through its flexible data model, columnar storage, and in memory analytics, it unifies
search, navigation, and analytics to deliver fast answers on structured and unstructured data.
Enterprise Command center is a BI platform providing data extraction and integration, the hybrid
search/analytic in-memory Oracle Information Discovery Server, and web-based dashboard. This
applications take a search-first approach to data exploration, providing simple but powerful query tools
to discover and spot trends across structured, semi-structured and unstructured data sources
Note: The current document explains functionalities with respect to ECC V4.
Oracle Enterprise Command Center (ECC) extends the owning Oracle E-Business Suite application
with discovery-oriented dashboards that bring together diverse operational data from across Oracle
E-Business Suite. With tools and visualizations such as actionable indicators, tag clouds, interactive
charts, and consumer-like search and filters, users can browse and drill on whatever engages their
attention. With each drilldown or search refinement, the entire interface recomputed, revealing new
information on which to base next discovery steps. Through this “conversation with the data”, users
narrow in on today’s most important business challenges, all without predefined navigation paths,
structured queries, or operational reports.
Oracle Assets Command Center uses the Oracle Enterprise Command Center Framework to help you
analyze and act on current asset-related data from across your enterprise. Improve your decision
making and maximize operational efficiency with the sophisticated guided navigation and powerful
search capability of the command center. Identify operational issues through metrics, graphs, and tag
clouds, and take immediate action by drilling down directly to the underlying business processes in
Oracle Assets.
o Asset Cost: Use this dashboard to analyze asset costs for major and minor categories. The
dashboard displays an overview of asset costs and accumulated depreciation by category.
See Asset Cost Dashboard for more information.
o Asset Aging: Use this dashboard to search for assets and to view asset aging. The
dashboard provides useful asset life information for all assets depreciated by the base-life
method. See Asset Aging Dashboard for more information.
o Asset Location: Use this dashboard to track fixed assets across all locations and employee
assignments, and to detect discrepancies in cost center assignments. The actionable links in
this dashboard help you execute asset transfers and assignments in Oracle Assets to
resolve missing assignments or mis-allocated resources. See Asset Location Dashboard for
more information.
o Asset Mass Transactions: Use this dashboard to gain insight into pending transactions,
such as mass additions, mass reclassifications, mass revaluations, and mass transfers. It
provides actionable links to Oracle Assets for the fixed assets accountant to ensure that all
pending transactions are processed on time to close asset books. See Asset Mass
Transactions Dashboard for more information.
o Asset Pipeline: Use this dashboard to check all additions pipeline that exist in Oracle
Payables and Oracle Projects that affect asset costs. See Asset Pipeline Dashboard for
more information.
The Asset Command can be accessed in EBS using below Navigation (Example)
4.1.1 Refinements
Each Dashboard page has its own refinements, in other words filtering, fields which are used to
drilldown to required specific details.
From the Fixed Assets Manager responsibility, navigate to the Asset Reconciliations dashboard:
Take action to resolve discrepancies, correctly categorize assets, and analyze root causes
of inaccuracies.
From the Fixed Assets Manager responsibility, navigate to the Asset Cost dashboard:
Within the Asset Cost dashboard, you can track asset costs and accumulated depreciation balance
by major category. Further, this dashboard enables you to analyze data using asset metrics, charts,
graphs, and tables.
Take action to submit a work request or a new purchase requisition, or perform mass
retirement.
From the Fixed Assets Manager responsibility, navigate to the Asset Aging dashboard:
Within the Asset Aging dashboard, you can track asset aging and useful asset life information by
category. You can also analyze data using asset aging metrics, charts, graphs, and results tables.
From the Fixed Assets Manager responsibility, navigate to the Asset Location dashboard:
Within the Asset Location dashboard, you can select the ledger and asset book to check the
location or assignment of a specific asset or group of assets. You can analyze data using asset
location metrics, charts, graphs, and results tables.
The “Unassigned Assets” tab lists details of assets not assigned to any location/Employee. One can
get view this information, alternatively, by clicking on “Unassigned Assets” in “Employee
Assignments” section.
From the Fixed Assets Manager responsibility, navigate to the Asset Mass Transactions dashboard:
Within the Asset Mass Transactions dashboard, you can track pending transactions and take
required actions. Further, you can analyze data using asset metrics, charts, graphs, and tables.
The refinement Attributes are provided to drill data based on source, supplier, addition year etc…
The pending Additions and pending transaction provide details of Prepare mass additions that are
pending for processing.
The information under Pending Addition Lines details information on Status, Invoice, cost etc…
Ledger details that include ledger name, operating unit, functional currency, and count of
pending invoices and projects.
Total amounts.
From the Fixed Assets Manager responsibility, navigate to the Asset Pipeline dashboard:

Project transaction details when Projects tab selected under Additions Pipeline
Application Name – Since we are running the data load for Fixed Assets, enter Assets
Data Set – If we want to refresh the data for a specific data set, select the same. If all the data set
needs to be refreshed, then it can be left blank.
Full_load - This deletes all existing data, initializes the data store, and loads all data once
again.
Increamental_load - This will update all the records in the “FA” data domain, which were
updated in EBS after the last load
Metadata_load – Should be used only once initially to load the interface behaviors
