1 Introduction
1.1 About This Document
The purpose of this document is to demonstrate functionalities/features available in Oracle Fixed
Assets Command Center and usage of each Dashboard related to Assets.

1.2 Scope
Scope of this white paper is to provide:
 Overview of Enterprise Command center
 Key benefits of Assets Command Center
 Functionality of Oracle Assets Command center
 Explain data Integration & Refresh process

Enterprise Command center is a hybrid search-analytical database. It organizes complex and varied
data from disparate source systems into a flexible data model that reduces the need for upfront
modeling. Through its flexible data model, columnar storage, and in memory analytics, it unifies
search, navigation, and analytics to deliver fast answers on structured and unstructured data.

Enterprise Command center is a BI platform providing data extraction and integration, the hybrid
search/analytic in-memory Oracle Information Discovery Server, and web-based dashboard. This
applications take a search-first approach to data exploration, providing simple but powerful query tools
to discover and spot trends across structured, semi-structured and unstructured data sources

Note: The current document explains functionalities with respect to ECC V4.

1.3 About Assets Command Center

Enterprise application users have access to millions of transaction records and attached documents,
yet they are unsure of what to work on next. While there are screens for entering and querying data,
there is little to guide users to today’s most important business challenges. Users typically rely on IT-
produced reports or custom inquiry screens to identify operational problems and exceptions such as
Unprocessed Assets, Asset Reconciliation etc... But these reports often reflect stale data and fail to
reveal root causes. Users need a way to quickly identify and act on today’s most important business
challenges.

Oracle Enterprise Command Center (ECC) extends the owning Oracle E-Business Suite application
with discovery-oriented dashboards that bring together diverse operational data from across Oracle
E-Business Suite. With tools and visualizations such as actionable indicators, tag clouds, interactive
charts, and consumer-like search and filters, users can browse and drill on whatever engages their
attention. With each drilldown or search refinement, the entire interface recomputed, revealing new
information on which to base next discovery steps. Through this “conversation with the data”, users
narrow in on today’s most important business challenges, all without predefined navigation paths,
structured queries, or operational reports.

Oracle Assets Command Center uses the Oracle Enterprise Command Center Framework to help you
analyze and act on current asset-related data from across your enterprise. Improve your decision
making and maximize operational efficiency with the sophisticated guided navigation and powerful
search capability of the command center. Identify operational issues through metrics, graphs, and tag
clouds, and take immediate action by drilling down directly to the underlying business processes in
Oracle Assets.

4.1 Dashboards Refinements
Use the dashboard sidebar to refine (filter) the data on each dashboard. You can select a value or
record from the Available Refinements component, or use Search to find a keyword, a value, or a
specific record. The type-ahead feature suggests matches for your entry that correspond to the
available refinements. When you submit a search, the search term is added to the Selected
Refinements list, and the dashboard data is refined to include only records that match the search.
You can add multiple refinements and remove any of them at any time. Use Saved Search to create
and save your search. You can edit, delete, or refer to this saved search. You can also use data sets
to further refine your search.
Use an asterisk (*) or percent (%) to perform a partial keyword or record search that matches any
string of zero or more characters. You can also use a question mark (?) to perform a partial search
that matches any single character.
Additional Information: For more information about searching for and refining data in enterprise
command centers, see "Search" in Highlights of an Enterprise Command Center, Oracle E-Business
