Section I. Every teacher shall make it his duty to make an honest effort to understand and support the
legitimate policies of the school and the administration regardless of personal feeling or private opinion
and shall faithfully carry them out.

This section tells that a teacher should apply and follow the legitimate policies of the school and the
administration. When we say legitimate policies, it is clearly stated in the different manuals like teacher
and student’s manual of the school. It must be understood by everyone involved especially to a new
hired teacher, she/he must know about the agreements, ground and rules in the school that will
introduced by the school administrative. A teacher must possess good values like being responsible to
his/her profession. If a teacher shows incapability, irregularity and inconsistency of a certain policy he
/she has to report to appropriate authority. Way back then in my first week of duty, there was an
orientation for the teachers for us to be aware of rules and regulations implemented in the school. If
what rules and policies has had given, therefore you must strictly follow to avoid inconsistency and
chaos. These will be guided for you on how to deal to the students, teachers and community.

Section 5. Every teacher has a right to invoke the principle the appointments, promotions, and transfer
of teachers are made only on the basis of merit and needed in the interest of the service.

This section is about the appointments and promotions based on the merits. The teacher is appointed
into a such position because of his/her ability and work this will be based on the additional units earned
by the teacher like masteral degree or doctor’s degree holder then there will be a promotion. The
teachers attend seminars and workshops to get certificates needed for promotions. For the teachers, it
is very encouraged to get masteral degree to promote into higher position.

Section 6. A teacher who accepts a position assumes a contractual obligation to live up to his contract,
assuming full knowledge of employment terms and conditions.

Once a teacher accept a position then he or she should study the job description,he / she has to
understand well the job that must be accomplished as well the limitation of the job and before
accepting the postion,examine yourself if you are capable of handling of such position. You must be
humble and brave enough to face possible problems. It is your responsibility to equip yourself with the
necessities of the position. In our school, the school head gives us designations that he/she think we are
capable on it. We just accept the designations because we know that it will help us to grow our
profession.
