SCIENCE & ENGINEERING DESIGN EXHIBITION (SEDEX) LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION

RULES AND REGULATION 1. Eligibility of Entry.

a. b. c. The competition is free and open to all UTP staffs, undergraduates and postgraduates students; except for the members of the Organizing Committee of SEDEX. Participant is permitted to submit only ONE (1) entry for the SEDEX Logo Design Competition. Participant may enter either as an individual or as a team.

2. Logo Design Criteria.

a. b. c. d. e. f. The logo shall not exceed THREE (3) colors, excluding black and white. The logo MUST include either the full name Science and Engineering Design Exhibition or the acronym SEDEX as part of the logo. The logo has to look attractive, recognizable, unique and memorable to various audiences. The entry must include a description of the designed logo in a short write-up of not exceeding 300 words. The logo must be applicable to all anticipated usage environments (e.g. internet sites, e-mailing, hard copy and projected images). Each entry must be original, unpublished and must not breach any copyrights.

3. Entries and Deadlines.

a. b. All entries must be submitted to the Organizing Committee of SEDEX by 12.00 midnight, on Sunday, 17th July 2011. All submissions shall be emailed to the SEDEX Secretariat at sedexutp@gmail.com. The logo files submitted must include the followings: i. The Registration Form. ii. An A4-sized image file of the logo on a white background (no transparency) in a JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 150 dpi. iii. A PDF document file which contains the designed logo on the first page and description of the logo in a write-up of not exceeding 300 words on separate pages. The file size must not exceed 10 MB. Submission that does not meeting these criteria will not be accepted. Selected entry may be modified at the absolute discretion of the organizing committee.

4. General Rules.
a. Please note that upon submitting the designed logo, you hereby agree that all rights, title and interest in the designed logo shall belong to Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. The usage of the logo shall be entirely at the discretion of the university. No application fee is required. The applicants are solely responsible for their own expenses in preparing the submissions. All submissions will not be returned. Once entered into the competition, it is assumed that the applicants have accepted the rules and regulations of the competition and that the rules and regulations are subject to change without prior announcement by the organizer. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
