PROBLEMS

The research is designed explore the “Effects of Teachers Professional Competence on Students
Academic Achievements at Public Secondary School of Muzaffarabad District.”

It aims to address the following problems:

Identify the professional competencies of teachers


Find out the relationship between teachers’ professional competence and students’
achievements.
Compare the difference between achievements of female and male students.
Examine the discrepancies in professional competence of teachers affecting the achievement of
students.
Measure the improvement of professional competences of teachers.

METHODOLOGY

The research conducted a descriptive and survey technique to gathered data.

Population and Sample Size: 424 teachers (200 females and 224 males)

Research Tools: Random sampling technique, Five-point Likert scale (for the questionnaire), and
Cronbach's Alpha formula (for the reliability of questionnaire).

Questionnaire: 60 closed ended items and 2 open ended items.

Research Instrument: Survey technique

Analysis of data: Collected tabulated data, used of percentages, mean scores, t-Test, Pearson r, and
Pearson Coefficient Correlation.
FINDINGS

(I only got 10 out 60 important findings.)

The following are some of the findings of the study:

MAJORITY OF THE TEACHERS (MALE AND FEMALES) ARE:

Knows the objective of the curriculum.

Planned according to the strengths and weaknesses of the students.

Planned to have extra classes for slow learners and their interests.

Planned to center activities and ensuring the resources availability for planning for the students.

Used of variety of approach and technique for their respective classes.

Conducts proper questioning technique.

Conducts discussion method and integration of technology.

Provided variety of learning activities.

Encouraged students class participation.

Providing students self-evaluation and assessment.

CONCLUSION

The following are the conclusions were made:

1.Teachers are competent in instructional planning

wherein majority of them knows the objective of their subjects, knowing the strengths and weaknesses
of their students, prepared an extra class to slow learners and centered activities and collaborating with
colleagues during lesson planning.

2.Teachers are competent of knowledge since they give solid examples related to current issues and
practical life through enhancing their subjects.

3. Teachers are competent in professional competence of human growth and development considering
individual’s needs, motivation of students, and used of variety of learning techniques.
4. Teachers revealed to be competent to the needs of learning environment, considering proper
arrangements, and used various instructional materials.
