NARRATIVE REPORT ON CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

RTU 10 WEEKS PROGRAM
(February-May 2022)

A college student in its fourth year must go through the process of internship, commonly
known as OJT/On the Job Training, as part of the final requirements before graduation. During
the past years it was easy for the schools to assign this task among students because the situation
is very normal. In the present time, we are in a situation of global pandemic, in which it would be
very difficult for students to go on-site and find companies suitable for their internships.

The Rizal Technological University implemented options for students to choose from as
alternative for their internships namely Virtual OJT, Training-based Program, and
Certification Program. It allowed the students to pick the best choice for their current situation.
I chose the Certification Program since I already tried a voluntary On the Job Training over
summer vacation at Ayala Cooperatives in Makati City. I was interested in the certification
program because it was handled by an international foundation which will also be a good
additional credential for my resume.

Job Ready 2.2 is the course title of the said program that I enrolled into. It will help me
acquire the general skills that employers look for while recruiting and it will eventually help me
towards my journey of a successful career.
The course consists of ten weeks program with various modules, activities, assessments,
and collaborations to be completed. The Wadwhani Foundation prepared a schedule for all the
tasks assigned to us which developed our time management skills.

We use the website learnwise as a platform where we watch, answer, and take quizzes. It
also shows how much of the Chapters are left, so that we are mindful of how much time we should
take before completing the program.
Each module comprises of five parts namely Watch, Think, Collaborate, Do, and
Explore. All the parts will be marked as check when finished.
The watch part is where we can see, hear, and learn about the specific topic.

The think part is where we apply what we have learned from the lecture video, it does not
have a score when done. This part tells us why an answer is wrong and what is the right answer so
it prepares us for the next part.
The do part is very similar to the think part, the only difference is that it does not say
whethere you choose the right or wrong answer, but will reveal your score at the end of the activity.

The collaboration part is not done on the learnwise platform, instead we use zoom
meetings every Monday for this session, where each group presents their own presentation about
the certain topic at that period.
The explore tab is not required, it is an additional information for the lecture video which
will also provides more links related to that topic if you want to learn more.

There is also a tab where we could see all the reports of the final results of the tasks
completed and how well we performed at each modules.
At every end of chapter, we answer module completion tab where it consists of the survey
as well as feedback for the chapter we have finished. It includes rating questions, comments,
suggestions, and an appreciation too.
We answer the assessments through the quizzes tab. There is a formative assesment every
after completion of the module in which it will measure if we truly understand the topics discussed
at each lesson. If we we’re not sure of our answers or we are not satisfied of the score, we could
always retake it but we have to ask permission to the head first.
Additionally, we have a facebook group where we interact with each other as a practice of
teamwork with people of from different sections. It is also the platform where our head will
provide the specific topic to be presented by each group for the collaboration sessions.
My favorite part of this program, more than all the learnings and skills I have acquired,
is that it was very entertaining. It gives me a sense of fulfillment whenever I have finished my
tasks on time. I was able to develop my communication skills to when answering questions during
collaboration sessions and when I talked to our head because of the site crashes.

Hopefully, I am more prepared to be successful in my career in the next few years. I

am grateful to be part of the program.
