FOOD HEROES QUIZ BEE


IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS
 

IRR 1.0      RATIONALE


Food Heroes Quiz Bee is a competition that aims to empower the
intellectual competence of CARES students through sportsmanship
and camaraderie on information related to the theme.

IRR 2.0 QUALIFICATIONS


IRR 2.1 Each course and year are required to have one representative.
IRR 2.2 The representative shall be a bonafide student of Central Philippine
University enrolled in the first semester of Academic Year 2021-2022.

IRR 3.0 CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS


IRR 3.1 Each participant is required to register through Google Forms
prepared on or before October 27, 2021, at 2:00 P.M.
IRR 3.2 The Quiz Bee shall have three rounds; Easy, Average, and Difficult
level.
IRR 3.3 Contestants should ensure the availability and stability of internet
connections so there is no delay or inconvenience.
IRR 3.4 The representatives are required to turn on their cameras.
IRR 3.5 The participant’s clothes must abide by the dress code of the
university.
IRR 3.6 Each contestant shall prepare a black marker and 40 pcs of ½ crosswise
bond paper.
IRR 3.7 Use a device such as a laptop, computer, or smartphone, and make
sure that you are in a well-lit area as not to attract unnecessary noise
and attention.
IRR 3.8 Mute or unmute your audio only if needed.
IRR 3.9 Also secure that the device you are utilizing has enough battery that
can last throughout the contest.
IRR 3.10 The contestants are required to enter the Zoom room 15 minutes
before the time of the contest proper.
IRR 3.11 Before entering the room, participants are required to change their
screen names into their Last Names and Course and Year.
IRR 3.12 Position yourself at a reasonable distance from the camera and
microphone. (Cameras shall be turned on throughout the competition)
IRR 3.13 Late contestants are to be disqualified.
IRR 3.14 Upon taking the quiz, the participants are required to turn their
cameras on and follow the given setup. Failure to comply will be
disqualified.
IRR 3.15 The question will only be read twice. As the question is being read,
contestants are required to raise their hands. They can begin writing
their answer as soon as the facilitator says “GO”.
IRR 3.16 Participants should raise their answer sheets when the timer stops.

IRR 4.0 SCORING MECHANICS


IRR 4.1 The participants will follow the scoring mechanics.
IRR 4.2 The points will be distributed as follows:

IRR 4.3 The participants will be answering the same set of questions.
IRR 4.3.1 Questions in any given round may be in the form of Identification,
True or False, and Multiple Choice with a corresponding time limit
depending on the round.
IRR 4.3.2 Misspelled, incorrect, no answer and fail to raise their answer when
the timer stops are equivalent to zero (0).
IRR 4.4 The scoring mechanics shall be managed by the assigned scorer
facilitator. Any error in the given scores of any representative should
be raised by their, not before a day after the event. Failure to raise
concerns, the score reflected after the contest will be considered
correct and final.
IRR 4.5 Any form of cheating is automatically disqualified.

IRR 5.0 TIE-BREAKER MECHANICS


IRR 5.1 In case of a tie after the final round, tie-breaker questions will be
immediately provided.
IRR 5.2 The first representative to gain the highest score will be declared the
winner.
