2. Themes are current
3. Unconventional structure / presentation

Assessment 1
In this world, everything has changed even in the form of learning. We occupied different forms/
ways on how we can get the right information that we need and also the entertainment that we seek.
Two of these forms had fill in the gaps of what I've been looking for. It is graphic fiction and flashes
fiction.
Graphic fiction is composed of narratives and is written in comic book formats. These novels can
be employed in a broad manner, graphic fiction can be long or short. Graphic fiction in the 21st-century
respond to the varying demands of audience, task, purpose, and discipline.
Nowadays graphic fiction builds a strong content knowledge that attracts the attention of the
people. On the other hand, the Flash fiction in the 21st century gives the excitement to their readers which
make the flash fiction be popular and gets the taste of its audience. One of the examples of it is Wattpad
because some of its stories are flash fiction that the readers are so in interested because the topic and
themes in that are timely and suits the taste of the millennial's readers.
To sum up, one of the reasons why readers and audience too to attracted and demanding on these
two is because, in this modern world, it's easy for them to access it because of the presence of internet. So,
they'll really get the stories that they want and also the entertainment as well that these two brings
to them.

Activity 2: Finding Differences

GRAPHIC FICTION FLASH FICTION
 images/ pictures  less than 1000 words
 panels  paragraph form
 speech balloons  solid plot
 short narrations  realistic character
 sound effect  surprising ending

Assessment 2
The difference between graphic fiction and flash fiction is fairly obvious. Flash fiction is similar to a
short story that works off an idea of plot and character and a written genre. Graphic fiction, however, is
a creative and meaningful interaction of words, images, panels, and typography, most common type of
graphic fiction is comic. Graphic fiction, unlike flash fiction, have pictures, arranges in sequential image
panels and words are placed in speech bubbles and text boxes.

Activity 3. Comparing and Contrasting between Genres

MY FREAKING ALARM SIMILARITIES THE UNLUCKY WINNERS
 Has panels  Written recently  Written in paragraph form
 Has narration  Realistic characters and  Developed the plot using a
 Has images setting few words
 Solid plot  Has a realistic character
Assessment 3
1. The characteristics that make these genres similar in terms of structure are the structure of the movie:
The premise, the plot of the movie/ the action, the location, and the characters of the story.
2. The characteristics that make these genres are different is because the story "My Freaking Alarm has
Pannels, narration and image" while "Unlucky Winners" was written in paragraph form, developed the
plot using a few words, has a realistic character. The poem entitled My Freaking Alarm is an example of
a comedy, because the story is light and has a funny ending while the flash fiction The Unlucky Winners
is an example of a tragedy.

What I Have Learned

1. 21st Century discussed about Digi-fiction, illustrated novel, manga, chick lit, doodle fiction and
text-talk novels.
2. Graphic fiction is another term for graphic novel. The distinct characteristic of a graphic novel is that the
images do the most of the storytelling. Dialogue bubbles and narration boxes also help in elaborating the
story. In other words, Graphic Fiction/Novels are like comic books but published as a complete
narrative, whether or not it is part of a larger storyline. Graphic Fiction/Novels are not like the comic
books that have serializations.
3. The first one is brevity. Flash fiction compresses an entire story into the space of a few paragraphs. And
also, a complete plot. A flash fiction story is indeed a story, with a beginning, middle, and end.
4. Comic book or comic stripe because it is dimension to the prose novel then it is pictures arranged in
sequence in image panels and dialogue are written in speech bubble.
5. In flash fiction there are many stories that are hilariously difficult to categorize; confusingly known as
"micro fiction," "short shorts," "minisagas," "dribble," and "drabble"; and sometimes, even dangerous.
"Chapter V," by Ernest Hemingway. "Widow's First Year," by Joyce Carol Oates. "Give It Up!" by
Franz Kafka.
