Dear Selection Committee,

With this letter I would like to apply for full master scholarship at faculty of Economics in Ljubljana and
SUNBEAM scholarship program.
When learning about SUNBEAM scholarship program I gathered information of partner Universities and the
University of Ljubljana immediately stood out as a respectable Institution that offers high quality education
and excellent working conditions. I am convinced that studying in one of oldest university in the Western
Balkan can invaluably improve my education and without any doubt University of Ljubljana is my first
choice.
My great ambition, when enrolling in Law Studies was to became a respected jurist who will be using
knowledge to fight for justice and improve the Serbian Juristic system. That is why I tried to engage not
only in courses at the University but also volunteer. I volunteered at Legal Clinic for women rights, where I
gave free legal assistance. My clients were women with poor financial resources and in need of legal
advices. I also have great social responsibility to help vulnerable members of our community, so I am engaged
in a humanitarian work. With organization Serbs for Serbs I travel all over Serbia and help families with many
children that lack basic living conditions.
During studies I took a course in Managerial Economics, which cases intrigued me and shaped my future
career plans. This and other course of Economics which I had on Faculty of Law, had a big impact on me,
they made me realize how Economic is an important segment of any country and always needs to be
improved.

In academic year 2013/14 I was selected as one of few students to study at the Faculty of Law, University of
Warsaw. Studying in Warsaw, I listened to many interesting and valuable classes which helped me gain
perspective and develop a new way of thinking. One subject that stood out was “EU economic law/internal
market”, which determined the direction I wish to continue my education and develop myself as a jurist.
Therefore I know the program “International Business” offered by University of Ljubljana is a great
opportunity for me.
It will be a great honor to study at the University which had the great holders of honorary doctorates like
Tomáš G. Masaryk, who became the first president of Czechoslovakia, Noam Chomsky, the linguist, he legal
expert Robert Badinter and many others. This scholarship will be an encouragement for my future work and
career. It will be a great step forward for my education.
Along with my academic interests I cannot overlook my strong personal desire. I have big affections
towards Slovenian culture. I hope I will study in Ljubljana, an important cultural and historical center of
Balkan and home of a many international students that enrich the social and cultural life of the city, so it will
the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. I have a great desire to tour Ljubljana Old Town and
one of the most beautiful cathedrals “Stolnica Sv. Nikolaja”. As a great basketball fan, I look forward to the
opportunity to watch the match of “Olimpija” for who once played Jurij Zdovc, a great Slovenian basketball
player. And finally as big guy who loves food, I would like to try famous dish “Prekmurska gibanica”.
This scholarship is special opportunity to improve myself and I believe I will accomplish excellent
results in tests and exercises at Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana. It will be an honor to be considered for
this full master scholarship.
