WHY THE ENVIRONMENT IS IMPORTANT

A. Based on what you have read, what is the role of the environment?

The environment protects the ecosystem. It successfully generates the

food chain system. And, it is useful in maintaining the earth's balance.

B. Do you think humans have a lot of contributions to the destruction of the

environment?

Anthropogenic activities often cause the destruction of the environment

since pollution is one of the most hazardous factors affecting the
environment. Air pollution and deforestation are environmental issues that we
are currently experiencing right now, these two are most likely considered
man-made activities. Air pollution results from gas emissions from vehicles,
burning of garbages, and smoke from factories while deforestation is the
removal of large numbers of trees for the facilitation of human activities.

C. Do other living things depend on the environment?

Based on the article, protecting the environment protects humanity.

Humanity means human beings, and humans are considered living things.
Therefore, humans depend on the environment. Additionally, humans
continuously benefit the environment as humans consume the resources
provided by the planet. Moreover, half of the species live in the forest thus the
destruction of the environment would result in greater loss of these species.

D. What will happen to living things if there is continuous destruction of the

environment?

Once the situation of environmental crisis is exacerbated, there would be

many detrimental changes around the surroundings. Living things would
hardly live and suffer since there would be a gradual extinction of other living
things which are considered resources of other organisms and species. It
would be the expected outcome of the continuous destruction of the
environment since living things depend on the environment.
E. Do you think the next generation will have the same environment as what we have
right now?

The next generation would only have the same environment if people will
treat the environment better and protect it from destruction. It depends on the
actions of the people whether they would give an interest in protecting the
environment or not since if people continuously destroy it with anthropogenic
activities, it will not be the same environment anymore. The future
environment is in the hands of the present.

F. What insight of realization came into your mind when it comes to protecting the
environment?

I realized that people must reflect on their actions since not all of them
contribute to the betterment of the environment. People must be aware of the
current situation of the environment to prevent it from destruction. People
must not only raise awareness to people but be part of the action.
