Task 1

Let’s start reading one written dialogue. Read and answer the questions that follow.

Customer : Excuse me, can you help me?


Shop assistant : Yes, sure. What can I do for you?
Customer : I bought a blouse and a skirt two days ago for my sister.
However, the blouse didn’t fit her well. It was too large.
Shop assistant : Don’t worry, you can change that into different size
within 5 days.
Customer : Great. I would like to have the medium, I bought large size
before.
Shop assistant : Ok. Let me check.
I apologize, mam. Your expected size is not available but
we have Small Size. Do you want me to take it?
Customer : No, thank you. I don’t think it will be Ok for h er.

Offering help in English can be done in affirmative ways by using statements
and persuasive by using interrogatives. Could you find those affirmative and
interrogative expressions? I have put one example for you. Write as many as
possible and then discuss with your friends.
