PREPARE AND CUT MATERIALS FOR LADIES


TROUSER
Objectives: Lay-out and mark pattern on material

Review

Directions: Lay the patterns on cloth using the previous pattern.

Procedure

Direction: Follow the procedures in laying out patterns on cloth.


1. Fold the fabric in lengthwise grain position on the cutting table.
2. Check the fabric if it is in equal width and length.
3. Lay out all the pattern pieces required to ensure that there is sufficient
fabric.
4. Check the position of each piece so that the necessary pieces are
placed to the fold and that the straight threads or (print) are parallel
with the markings for the straight thread.
5. Pin the pattern in place with the use of pins.
6. Place the pins near the seam allowance and at the right angles to the
edges.
Direction: Transfer the mark lines on the cloth using the right tools.
1. Check the tools used in transferring mark on cloth.
2. Lay the ruler or yardstick carefully on perfectly smooth fabric.
3. Mark the line exactly from point to point.
4. For circular cutting lines use the tracing wheel to achieve greater
accuracy in measurement.
