Malleability is the ability of a metal to be

hammered or beaten flat. Gold, silver, and


copper are malleable that can be formed into
different pieces of jewelry

❖ Ductility is the ability of a material to be


stretched or pulled out and be formed into
fine thin wires.

❖ Flexibility is the ability of a material to


be bent without breaking. Wires, rubber,
cloth and some plastic are flexible
materials that can be folded, pressed or
stored.

❖ Elasticity is the ability of a material to


be stretched and returned to their
original form when released.

Materials have different properties


according to their uses. These properties
are hardness, softness, brittleness,
absorbent, waterproof, flexibility,
durability, transparent, conductor of heat
or electricity and insulator of heat or
electricity.
