 Health
Health is a state of health, both physically, mentally, spiritually and sosially that
enables everyone to live socially and economically productive lives. (Law 36 of 2009)
Health as "physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of
disease and infirmity". (WHO, 1948)
Core summary : a healthy state from all aspects, especially mental, physical and social
that supports a productive life
 Public Health
Public Health is the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life, promoting
physical and mental health, and efficiency through organized community efforts to
improve environmental sanitation, control of infection in the community, education of
individuals about personal hygiene, the organization of medical and nursing services,
for early diagnosis, prevention of disease and the development of social aspects,
which will support everyone in society to have a strong standard of living to maintain

Public Health is the science and art of maintaining, protecting and promoting public
health through community organizing efforts. (American Medical Association, AMA,
1948)

 Environmental Health
Environmental Health is an effort to prevent disease and or health problems from
environmental risk factors in order to realize a healthy environmental quality from the
physical, chemical, biological, and social aspects. (Government Regulation of the
Republic of Indonesia Number 66 of 2014)
Environmental health is an ecological balance that must exist between humans and the
environment in order to ensure the health of humans. (WHO)

 Sanitation
Sanitation is intentional behavior in the culture of clean living with the intention of
preventing humans from coming into direct contact with dirt and other hazardous
waste materials in the hope that this effort will maintain and improve human health.
Sanitation is an effort to monitor several physical environmental factors that affect
humans, especially those that affect physical development, health, and survival.

 Hygiene is a health effort by maintaining and protecting the cleanliness of individual
subjects. For example, washing hands to protect hand hygiene, washing dishes to
protect dish hygiene, removing damage parts of food to protect the integrity of the
food as a whole. (Ministry of Health RI in 2004)
Hygiene is a science that deals with health problems, as well as various efforts to
maintain or improve health. Hygiene also includes self-care efforts, including proper
posture.

 Safety
Safety is a state of security, in a safe condition physically, socially, spiritually,
financially, politically, emotionally, occupationally, psychologically, or educationally
and protected from threats to these factors.
Safety as a condition in work that is healthy and safe both for the job, the company as
well as for the community and the environment around the factory or workplace.
