Walt Disney

Everybody know what is Disney, but do you know when it starts and who was the co-creator. Walt disney was
an American animator, writer, voice actor and film producer. He holds the record for the most Academy
Awards earned by an individual. He won 22 oscars from 59 nominations, 4 in one year. But I think that
everybody know him because he develop animation character Mickey Mouse.

He was born in Chicago on December 5, 1901 and he died on December 15, 1966 in Burbank. He had 3
brothers and sister. He was the fourth son of Elias and Flora Disney. Disney developed his interes in drawing
on uncles farm. He was paid to draw the horse for retired doctor. He practiced drawing by copying the front
page cartoons from Appeal to Reason newspeaper. In 1911 disney became the cartoonist of the school
newspaper at McKinley High School. He also took night courses at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art. In 1918
he attempted to join the United States Army to fight against the Germans but he was too young. After he forged
teh date of birth, he joined the Red Cross as an ambulance driver. He drew cartoons on the side of the
ambulance and had some of his work published in the army newspaper. When he returned in Kansas City in
October 1919 he become friend with artist Ub Iwerks. In 1920 he began experimenting with borrowed book of
animation and a camera. With his co-worker he opened a new business and their main client was the local
theter. They produced the short cartoons Laugh-O-Grams. Company don't exist long. Disney moved to
Hollywood in July 1923 and on October Disney and his brother formed the disney company- which later
became The Walt Disney Company. Early in 1925 he hired an ink artis Lilian Bounds. They married in July of
that year, They had two daughters Diane and Sharon. Sharon was adopted. In 1927 Disney and Iwerks created
Oswalt the Lucky Rabbit. Disney hoped to nagotiate a larger fee for Oswalt series but he found out that the
company wanted to reduce the payments. Because Disney declined ulimatum he lost most of his animation
staff, except Iwerks. To replace Oswalt They developed Mickey Mouse possibly inspired by a pet mouse.
Disneys original choice of name was Mortimer Mouse but his wife suggested Mickey instead. Disney provided
Mickey's voice until 1947. Disney create the first post-produced sound cartoon Steamboat Willie.Disney had
been a heavy smoker since World War 1. In November 1966, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He died in St.
Joseph Hospital in December 15. 81 is the number of films that Disney had been involved in to. Some of them
are Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Dumbo, Bambi, Cinderella, Mary Poppins...
We are now very suprised by a fact how long way he needed to walk before he became famous like he is now.
How many bankruptcys and failed attempts he need to stand. It is very interesting how he was still going also
after all this. Disney personality was very different. His public persona was much different from his actual
personality. He hid his shy and insecure personality behind public identity. He told a friend „I'm not Wlt
Disney. I do a lot of things Wlat Disney would not do. Wlat Disney does not smoke. I smoke. Wlat Disney
does not drink. I drink.
Like I said in the beginning he won a lot of rewards 26 oscars, 3 golden globe awards and 1 emmy Award.
When he visited Griffith Park in Los Angeles with his daughters he get an idea that he wanted park where both
children and their parents could have fun. He build a theme park in Burbank, near the Disney studios.
And now some interesting facts. The character Wall-E was named after Disney. He was obsessed with trains.
Thelma Howard was the Disney family's live.in housekeeper and cook for three decades. One Christmas
Disney gave her stock in the company.She never did anythink with her shares and when she died she was a
multimillionaire because of them.
I think that I'm very simmilar with Disney because of the drawing interest and his shy personality. But in many
ways I'm very different from him. Every pearson is special. I don't have two personalities like Disney and I
don't some and I don't want to start.

Disney are remaining the cantral figure in history of animation. We can only imagine how world will look
without Disney. All the Disney animation movies will not exist. I can't imagine that and I don't want to. And
for last the Disney quote: If you can dream it you can do it, remember that this whole thing started with an
dream and a mouse.
