modern flag of Ukraine, a flag
made of two equally sized
horizontal stripes of blue and
yellow colors.

The State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, or the

small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, is the
official symbol of the state of Ukraine in
the form of a golden trident on a blue
shield. One of the three national symbols
of Ukraine, along with the flag and the
national anthem
Characteristic features of Ukrainian clothing:

Ukraine can rightfully be proud of the fact that it will
satisfy the taste of even the most demanding gourmet.
Since traditional dishes are basically everyday dishes,
they had to be prepared easily and quickly, without
requiring a lot of time. Therefore, Ukrainian national
cuisine originated from simple-to-prepare rural dishes,
the basis of which are cereals and vegetables.
That is why the traditional
cuisine of Ukrainians is rich in
a wide variety of vegetable
dishes. These are borscht,
cabbage soup, cabbage rolls,
sauerkraut, pickles, and
pumpkin porridge.
Varenyki, or pies in the Western
Ukrainian style, is a dish that
Bill Clinton put on his Must Be
Served list. According to one
version, varenyki, which used to
be called "varaniky", were
known even in pre-Christian
times, and according to
another, the dish comes from
Turkish "dush-vars".
Dumplings are prepared from
unleavened dough, and the filling can be
very diverse. Potatoes, onions, crackers,
cheese, cherries, blueberries were
considered traditional. In Chernihiv
Oblast, crackers are added, in
Transcarpathia - cheese, in Polissia -
mashed beans. There are even options
for filling the dish with fern, radish or
flour with lard.
Interesting facts: the dumpling is
considered a symbol of the Canadian
city of Glendon, there is even a 9-
meter-high monument to it. In
Ukraine, there was a monument to the
dumpling in Cherkasy, but in 2013 it
was dismantled. At the same time, in
2013, the world's largest snow
dumpling was molded in Bukovel.
