CÂU HỎI

1: How do vehicles move through ro-ro ship?

The vehicles in the ship are loaded and unloaded by means of built-in ramps.
Normally these ramps are made towards the stern (backside) of the ship. In some
ships, they are also found on the bow side (front) as well as the sides.

2. What is the effect of shifting of dry bulk cargo in the ship?

The effect of this movement is to break down lumps of cargo and reduce the space
between particles - effectively compacting the cargo. Moisture can then become
trapped between cargo particles and if there is sufficient saturation a flow state can
develop.
3.When traveling on the road, many people have seen a petrol and oil tank truck
often hanging on a long chain behind the car and dropping it on the road. So, what
is the purpose of this?
When the tank truck carrying gasoline or oil moves, these substances will come
into contact with the dry air inside the tank. In the process of moving, this area of
air will rub against the wall of the tank, which can easily cause electric shock.
When moving petrol tankers, it is very easy to have static electricity (Static
electricity), a phenomenon that often occurs when the electric charge on the
surface of a material is imbalanced, causing fire and explosion. These charges will
be retained at that surface. They can be transmitted to other places through
electrical transmission or discharge with sparks.
4. What is different between bulk cargo and break bulk cargo?

 Bulk cargo is products transported loose and stored directly into a transport
vessel, without packaging.
 Break bulk cargo is products in individual packaging, loaded and unloaded
individually without using containers.
 Bulk cargo transportation is necessary for goods that are not suited for
containerization.
 Break bulk cargo is an obsolescent form of goods transportation that
containerization has replaced but is still prevalent in certain parts of the
world.
6. How many pallets fit in a container?

Depending on the pallet size, there are roughly 9 to 11 pallet spaces in a 20’
container and roughly 21 to 25 pallet spaces in a 40’ container.

7. How is freight loaded onto cargo and container ships?

Shipping containers were originally loaded onboard vessels through a system of
cranes and ramps, and although cranes do still have a big part to play in the loading
and unloading of containers, cargo handling systems and lashing are now also used
to ensure that containers are safely and efficiently moved and secured. We also
mentioned RoRo (roll-on / roll-off) ships earlier. Loading and unloading freight on
these vessels is slightly different - due to the rolling aspect! As you might imagine,
cranes aren’t needed here as the cargo is wheeled (cars, trailers, trucks etc.) so it
can simply be driven onto or off the ship. The majority of container ships don’t
have their own cranes, although smaller vessels that deal in lower volumes of
freight may have a cargo crane onboard. Ships with their own cranes are known as
geared container vessels, and ships without them are known as gearless container
vessels.
