Assignment_Data Analytics
Looking back at all the modules and lessons in this course, what skills and learnings have
you gained that will help you be a better data analyst in the future? Which topic did you
find most interesting and helpful? How will this contribute to your prospective career?

At the start of the course, we were introduced to the importance of data analytics
in business and how to visualize said data. It was during that time that I was using Excel
for personal use. Learning how to create charts and graphs, especially pivot tables, made
it easier to classify and visualize data. After the first assessment, previous statistics
subjects brought us a refresher on measures of location, association, shape, and
dispersion that were taught to us. Remembering the concepts, together with the additional
learnings from the modules were a great help in building my foundation that would be
later used in the future.

I was able to apply what I had learned quickly in the assignments and the
CAPSTONE assessment. Being part of the whole process of the CAPSTONE made it
easier to understand the importance of each step in data collection and analysis. It is true
that the CAPSTONE was relatively small in size in comparison to market research and
dissertations but nonetheless, it was a good experience in knowing the dos and don'ts of
data management.

There are two topics I found most interesting and helpful. These were sampling
and R programming. I found sampling interesting for how it can greatly affect the results
of a test or research. Choosing the most applicable sampling method is vital for any
project. If it is done poorly or chosen wrong, it could potentially derail the whole data
gathering process, considering that there are many variables. On the other hand, I found
R programming remarkably helpful in data analytics and statistical computing. When I
was still a freshman, we were taught basic functions and formulas of Excel. Even during
that time, I knew that Excel has its own limits. It can calculate data to some extent but it
cannot reach the advanced data calculation and visualization that R can provide.

Data is important in everything. What career it may be, I am certain that data
analysis plays a significant role for achieving results. In my case, lessons taught in this
subject, Data Management and Warehousing are necessary for my prospective career.
As I am an Accounting Information System student, I would be indubitably handling data
every day in the job that aligns with my course. As I have mentioned before, what I have
learned contributes to building a strong foundation for data management, which would be
shown through my developing skills, and growing knowledge on the subject.
