WORKSHOP ACTIVITY
GEARBOX DISASSEMBLY
1. After successfully dismantling the compressor, disengage the motor seat
from Gearbox Housing (101B).

2. Upon removal of Motor Seat, place Seat exposed metallic gasket onHousing

groove of the Motor Seat. Set aside the removed parts for Re-assembly.

3. The motor is connected to the Low-Speed Input Shaft by a two-part Shim
Type Coupling. Remove the top section of the Shim-type Coupling by
unfastening the three bolts connecting it to the lower section.

4. After loosening the bolts of the bottom-section of the coupling, use a


Mechanical Puller to disconnect it from the Low-Speed Input Shaft.

5. Pull out the Shaft-Coupling Key (920F) from its groove in the Low-Speed
Bottom-Section of Shim-Type Mechanical Puller Bottom Section of Coupling

6. Remove the Sundyne Seal Input Shaft (115) from the Low-Speed Input Shaft

10. Remove Low Speed Shaft Assembly (A120) from the Bearing Plate for
Gearbox Type 31X (102A).

11. Remove Bearing Plate for Gearbox Type 31X (102A) with Lube Oil Pump
Input(160).

14. Remove Journal Bearing (151A) from Gearbox Housing (101A).
