Paper Mache: Layers of the Earth

Activity 2

I. Introduction
The model of layers of the earth is an example of instructional material that can help students to familiarize the
order of layers of the earth, familiarize its components, and analyze the temperature of each layers.

II. Objectives
To create a model out of recycle materials and to familiarize the layers of the earth.

III. Procedure
Materials:
Balloons Paint color or water color
Glue or gawgaw used Styrofoam/illustration board/folder
Newspapers or used papers
Marker
1. Prepare the materials to be used.
2. Inflate the balloon or ball.
3. Dip the newspaper or used paper in a water-glue solution.
4. Put the wet newspaper/ used paper on the inflated balloon.
5. Cover all the surface of the balloon and make sure the shape is in sphere.
6. Let it dry and second coat it with wet newspaper.
7. Let it dry.
8. Sliced about ¼ or 1/8 of the total sphere.
9. Measure the Styrofoam or illustration board to cover the hallow part of the paper mache.
10. Paint the globe including the interior part of the earth.
11. Write label and short description in each layer.
