JD- Research Engineer

Role Purpose : Being part of the Corporate R&I-Incubation group or Unit/ Business Group's
Research and Innovation teams, which builds future TCS unicorns using cutting edge
technologies your role will involve conceptualization, design and development of innovative
assets to address specific business opportunities and technology problems, under limited
supervision, either as a member of a team or where appropriate, independently.

Area of Responsibility Indicative Activities

Creation of assets and
asset components
Owning development of Assets and Asset Components either
individually or as part of a larger team. Scope of activities
ranging from Feature/Roadmap management, Requirements
Definition and Design, Coding & Testing and ensuring
compliance with various organizational processes as required

Innovation Execution
Continous Learning
i) Developing PoTs, PoCs, Prototypes, Pilots, MVPs etc. for
maturing the asset/component as required ii) Driving
validation of the developed asset/component with
customers/business units as required iii)
Experimenting/Researching as required to solve specific
business and technology challenges
Writing papers, participating in conferences and seminars
(national/international), filing patents etc. so as to support and
drive the overall asset strategy

Personal Development Learning & adopting new technologies, and understanding

business scenarios & usecases as required, with a focus on
application

Attributes Self-starter, Good Problem Solving Ability, Ownership &

Result Orientation, Quick Learner.
Must have a clear vision of how to practically realise the early
versions of the research output. He/She should be able to
understand what any research output has, what are the gaps
(scale, extended patentability,
componentization/composability) and provide solutioning to it.
