Detailed Training Contents

1. Plant Overview
Sea water will be treated to produce Potable water & Deionized water using Water
Treatment Plant. Water Treatment Plant Consists of Pretreatment i.e. DAF-UF, First pass
Desalination unit i.e. Sea water Reverse Osmosis, Second pass desalination i.e. Brackish
water Reverse Osmosis, Demineralization Plant i.e., Electro Deionization Unit,
Remineralization and Potable water activated carbon filter unit.
Wastewater from all areas of the Power plant will be collected in collection ponds and
further treated vide oily wastewater treatment system i.e., API & CPI, Clarifier, Sludge
Handling system i.e. Thickener, Dehydrator etc. Sewage from all toilets and kitchen waste
will be treated by sewage treatment plant.
Coal run off water will be treated using chemical treatment and surface aerators for
discharge. Chemical dosing for cooling tower system included Sodium basophile and
Scale/corrosion inhibitor dosing to preserve the cooling water quality.

3. Action plant
Plant maintenance includes equipment maintenance, care of plant grounds, buildings and
structures. Mechanical maintenance is vital so as keep the equipment in good operating
conditions. Instructions regarding the maintenance of equipment are supplied by
manufacturer, which must be carefully followed. Building maintenance should be carried out
at regular schedule. Building material used for treatment plant must be strong enough to
protect it from deterioration. It should be painted with appropriate paint to resist direct
contact of material with corrosive environment. Care must be taken regarding maintenance
of Electrical systems and Drainage around the building.
Regular scheduled examination and necessary maintenance of these items can prevent many
costly and time-consuming problems in the future.

 Ladders
 Platforms for adequate lighting
 Head clearance
 Sturdy and convenient guard rails
