1. Having observed
image 1, does the
school itself has a
responsibility in the
dilemma of a student being shown in the picture? Explain.
Yes, especially if teachers will give tons of school works but does not
teach the students about it and it will be recorded. Several teachers give
students grades that they don’t deserve even though they worked hard.
Some of them also bring the students’ confidence down because of their
expectations. But students also have responsibility in their own dilemma.
They shouldn’t pressure other students and make time for their school works
so they won’t cram.
2. What can the school do lessen student dilemmas like this?
They should lower the tuition fee if possible and be a bully-free school
by creating programs. They should also teach the lesson before they give
school works about it. Instead of pressuring students because of their
expectations, they should understand their students and help them improve
by encouraging them. They shouldn’t give assignments the week before the
exam and make bunch of school works considering they have other subjects
too.
REFLECTION: If you are going to enroll in college, what will be your main
basis for choosing a school?
For me, I would select a wide and huge college with library, garden,
cafeteria, field, gym, computer lab, etc. A city setting would be an ideal
place for my basis for choosing a school. Personally, I prefer public schools
rather than private schools since in a public school, expenses are more
manageable than a private school. I’d like to be put in with high average
students (preferably 84+ average) so there will be no hindrance in my
studies. Since my dream job is to become a CPA, a school that specializes in
that job would be a perfect fit for choosing the right college.
