contemporary practice of art or design.

VA:Re.7.2.Ia: Analyze how one’s understanding of the world is affected by experiencing visual
imagery.

Lesson Objectives (what will the students do):


Students will plan a thumbnail design for a collage inspired by nature.
Students will create an nature collage, with tissue paper and drawings that mimmic life.

Learning Targets (what do you want the students to leave with):


Students will be able to create a layered tissue paper collage with geometric shapes, then use
mixed media to render nature observation drawings on top.

Present examples of collages

Create thumbnail sketches of proposed plans.
Glue down issue paper in geometric shapes.
Drawing on top of the dried paper with ink.
Write an artist statement that explains artwork.
