devices as following:
a. Tap changer (upper; lower; out of step
and interlock) - by hand cranking and by
motor operated.
b. Oil Level Indicator (during pressure test).
c. Oil Temperature Indicator.
d. Winding Temperature Indicator.
e. OLTC Oil / Gas surge (pressure) relay-

g. Push buttons and indicators.
h. Oil sampling valve [main tank (Top &

1.3 Electrical Tests

Oil Test
Prior to energization, CONTRACTOR shall
submit test report for insulation samples
tested in an approved independent lab. The
report shall contain at least the following
test results:-
a. Color
b. Moisture Content
c. Dielectric Strength (Break Down
Voltage)
i) (2.5 mm Gap) for unprocessed oil
and for OLTC oil
ii) (1 mm gap) for oil in main tank
d. Dielectric Dissipation Factor Test
(DDF)
e. Acidity
f. Density at 20 ºC
20. g. Interfacial Tension IFT
h. Dissolved Gas in Oil Analysis DGA
i. (Dielectric Dissipation Factor,
Resistivity, Sediment and / or
Perceptible Sludge).
j. For transformer with Cellulosic
insulating material, perform total
Sulphur contents and corrosive sulphur
detection test as per ASTM D1275
method B.
