 1st Masskara Festival National Inter-Provinces, Cities, And Municipalities Chess Team
Championships 2022
A joint project of the City Government of Bacolod, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, and National
Chess Federation of the Philippines, under the auspices of Department of Interior &
Local Government in cooperation with Bacolod Yuhum Foundation, Bacolod Information
Office, Department of Tourism, Department of Health, and Bacolod Chess Players Association.
This event is sanctioned by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) and National Chess Federation of
the Philippines.
Date of Event: October 12-16, 2022
Venue: Forest Park Resort, Bacolod City, Philippines
Expected Number of Teams: 60 teams (4-5 members per team)
Participation: LGUs may send/endorse as many teams as they want; participants may not
necessarily be a resident of the LGU they represent as long as they are endorsed by that LGU.
Basic Health protocols: Everyone must be fully vaccinated. Wearing of mask at the venue is
mandatory. Participants must bring their own disinfectants. The venue will also provide alcohol.
Chess sets will be sanitized every end of each round.

Tournament Format: Eliminations: 7 rounds Swiss System; Semifinals & Grand finals
Team Composition: FIDE Rapid Rated event
Rating to be used in determining Average Rating: FIDE Rapid Ratings then Standard Ratings (if
no FIDE Rating for purpose of ranking: unrated will have an assumed rating of 1800) Average
rating of first 4 players of the team is 2250.
Registration fee per team: 6,000.00/ team
Individual Rapid Tournament: 500.00 / player
Hotel Accommodation: Organizers will provide a list of hotels in Bacolod.
