1. GENERAL
This document covers the wall thickness calculation for pipeline from NGL 1200 to 900
MANIFOLD for National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) in KOHGILUYEH-VA-
BOYERAHMAD in Iran.
APPLICABLE CODES AND STANDARDS
The following codes and standards and legal requirements shall form an integral part of this
specification.
International Codes and Standards
ANSI B 31.4 : Pipeline Transportation Systems for Liquid Hydrocarbons and
Other Liquids
API 5L : Specification For Line Pipe
National Codes and Standards
IPS-E-PI-140 : Engineering Standard For Onshore Transportation Pipelines
Units of Measurements
The international unit system (SI) shall be generally applied for measuring systems and physical
variables, except where noted in this Specification.
2. SCOPE
2.1. General
This document presents the pressure design wall-thickness requirements for pipelines NGL 1200 to
900 MANIFOLD. Refer to Process calculation, the type, size, design pressure, operating
temperature, corrosion allowance and length of pipelines are according to following table:
Design Operating
Length
No Pipelines Type NPS pressure Temp. (C) C.A(mm)
(m)
(Psig) max
Design temperature : 80 ºC
Design pressure : 1330 psig
tn = t*1.125 + A
Where:
S Y = Minimum Yield Stress for pipe (psi).
P = internal pressure in pipe (psi).
d O = outside diameter of pipe (in).
t c= minimum design wall thickness(in).

A = sum of allowances such as corrosion, etc.
t n= nominal wall thickness satisfying requirements for pressure and allowances.
E = longitudinal weld-joint factor: 1 (Per ANSI B31.4 Table 403.2.1-1).
F = design factor: 0.65 (Per ANSI B31.4 Table 403.3.1-1).
Thickness tolerance, Mill =: 12.5 %
