Câu so sánh

1. Câu so sánh hơn-kém

* S+ be + more + Tính từ dài + than + O
VD: He is more intelligent than me

* S + be + Tính từ ngắn-er +than +O

VD: He is taller than me

* S + be + less Tính từ dài + than + O

This test is less difficult than the previous one

Lưu ý: Muốn diễn tả mức độ hơn kém thì ta dùng các trạng từ sau:
Far – a lot – much / a little – a bit/ 2 meters – 3 years
VD: He is a lot/ a little/2 meters taller than me
 Far from = less than = không được/ không/chưa……
- The situation is far from clear
- I think he was less than honest with me

2. So sánh ngang bằng:

S + be + as + tính từ (ngắn/dài)+ as + O
He is as tall as me
He is as intelligent as me

3. So sánh hơn nhất

* S + be + the ngắn-est +……..
He is the tallest (student) in the class
* S + be + the most + dài +……
He is the most professional (person) in the company.
* S + be + the least +dài ….
This is the least difficult test of the year
Chú ý: Để nhấn mạnh đối với câu so sánh hơn nhất thì ta dùng: “by far”
VD:
- He is by far the most professional (person) in the company.
- He is the best by far in the class
4. So sánh đồng tiến:
* Càng ngày càng …… =
- S + be + ngắn-er and ngắn-er
VD: It is colder and colder
- S + be + more and more + dài
VD: She is more and more beautiful

* Càng A, thì càng B = The + so sánh hơn/kém, the + so sánh hơn/kém

VD:
- The richer I am, the happier I feel
- The taller she is, the more beautiful she is.
- The more I learn, the more stupid I am.
- The more, the merrier.

5. Diễn tả ý gấp bao nhiêu lần:

S + be + Số đếm + times + as + tính từ (ngắn/dài)+ as + O
- He is 10 times as rich as Bill Gates
- I have 3 times as many books as you.
- It runs twice as fast as a man

6. Cấu trúc cần nhớ:

- different from = khác so với…. (Vietnam is different from China)
- the same as = giống hệt so với (He's the same age as me)
- similar to = tương tự với …..(Vietnam is similar to Korea)
- superior to = cao hơn (về địa vị/đẳng cấp..) so với… (He is superior to her)
- inferior to = thấp hơn (về địa vị/đẳng cấp..) so với….(She is inferior to him)
- Prefer A to B = thích A hơn so với B (I prefer playing games to studying English)
- would rather V1 than V2 = thích làm điều 1 hơn điều 2
(I would rather play games than study English)
- Look like = take after = resemble = trông giống với…..
(I look like my mother)
- like sb/sth = Giống như…..
(He is like my brother = anh ta giống như anh trai của tôi vậy)
- unlike sb/sth = không giống như….
(Unlike other people, I hate football = không giống như nhiều người khác, tôi
ghét bóng đá)
