TASK 8
ANNOUNCEMENT
Attention, please.
In this activity, I have learned about announcement. From the definition, it can be
inferred that the announcement is a statement (official notification) in oral or written
form that contains information about an event that had happened or is going to
happen. So publicly people know what, when, and where it is about . Moreover, there
are two forms of announcement, spoken and written announcement. The
announcement has key features, namely: social function, generic structure and
language features.
The key features of announcement include stating purpose (The text that contains
what event will be held), informing receiver (the text that contains for who that the
information delivered), stating day and date and time realization (The text that
contains when the event will be held), stating place (the text that contains where the
event will be held), informing sender (the text that contains name of the person who
will be contacted).
What I need to improve/learn more are how to analyse social function, text
structure and lexico-grammatical features and how to improve our skill in English.
