Black Prior

A Martial Archetype

You have devoted yourself to a divine of protection and light

that has once stood in opposition to the forces of darkness,

but is now long gone. Nevertheless, you continue to carry on

your deity's will, vowing to repay those that have wronged

them in kind, even without the power that was once bestowed

upon you.

Protect from Evil

Beginning at 3rd level, On your turn, you can enter a

defensive stance as a bonus action. While defending, you gain

the following effects if you are wielding a shield:

Your movement is reduced by half.

Ranged weapon attacks made against you have

disadvantage.

As a reaction, you may force a creature that would

successfully land a melee weapon attack against you to

contest an Athletics check. Upon winning the check, you

flip the creature of the same or smaller size than you over

your shoulder with your shield, knocking it prone. A

creature larger than you fails its attack instead.

As a bonus action, you may enhance your blocking

capabilities and make all ranged attacks made against you

have disadvantage until the start of your next turn.

You can maintain this stance for 1 minute. It ends early if

you are knocked unconsciouss, and you can choose to end

your defensive stance at any time, no action required. You can

enter this stance a number of times equal to your proficiency

modifier, and regain all expended uses after a short or long

rest.
