I have known in my heart since childhood what I want to be when I grew up.

It was not
something stereotypical like becoming an astronaut or a neuro surgeon; Instead, my vision was
something that has piqued my interests throughout my life. In recent years, I have realized my
passion in exploring new places and travelling with the sole intention of studying the history of
specific locations and what made each of them unique to the other. I want to send a message
to the world for them to know how beautiful the world they live in and share my knowledge
about them in future articles, television, or any media possible.
I wish to embark on an educational journey with Lyceum of the Philippines for their outstanding
Tourism course when I get to college. To take this step in my travelling career, I am applying to
be a part of the scholars given by The Pasig City Scholars Office. My parents have split up ever
since I was a year old and I was left to the care of my grandparents and the sisters of my father
while my mother was searching for an occupation so she can earn to take care of me. It was
never an easy life after I moved in with my mother, we had to relocate at least once per year
due to her occupation as a house keeper and her bosses were nice enough to let me live with
my mother there. My grandparents have taken custody of me because of the circumstance I
was in. At my grandparent’s house, they gave me the chance to finish my studies at De Castro
Elementary School and my Junior High school at Mona Lisa and I graduated with 4 consecutive
honors on my name. The first 10 years of my life were not all sunny and filled with rainbows, it
was a rocky and hard life with the fear of having none, but my family has given me a second
chance to turn things around in my favor. I am seizing this moment to finally pay them back by
working hard as a student to show them that their sacrifices for me shall bloom into a flower.
My unfortunate past shall not become a barrier, but a launching pad to motivate and propel my
success today and in the future.
This scholarship will undoubtedly assist me in achieving my goals through the given allowances
and privileges. In essence this will allow me to save for my future college tuitions to receive an
excellent education in such a beautiful City, as well as use this chance to proudly introduce the
city that supported me in achieving the first goal of my life. Likewise, by funding my education
through the monthly allowances will help me to learn more profoundly without fear of
incurring student debt. I sincerely appreciate your consideration.
