INTRODUCTION
Applicable to: ALL
The purpose of this chapter is to provide all the weight, balance and loading information necessary
for a safe operation. It contains data in sufficient details so that the flight operations personnel may
analyze and establish weight and balance procedures to obtain maximum payload capability for any
type of operation and to provide an optimum trim setting for takeoff to establish an ideal CG position
to minimize the fuel consumption, which results in an economic trip.
The dimensions of A319 requires the airport to have a category of rescue and fire fighting of 6
(ICAO) or B (FAA) or above for regular operations.

REFERENCE TRIHEDRAL
A reference trihedral in front of and below the aircraft has been chosen. This trihedral is defined by
the following planes.
‐ Forward plane H-arm 0 (yoz) located 2.540 meters forward of aircraft nose section.
‐ Vertical plane (xoz) being the aircraft symmetry plane.
‐ Horizontal plane (xoy) located 7.000 meters below the fuselage datum line.
The green scale on trim wheel gives the trim setting for all weights and all configurations, as a
function of aircraft center of gravity (%RC) as shown on the table below.
Note: ‐ Positive stabilizer setting stands for aircraft nose up
‐ Negative stabilizer setting stands for aircraft nose down

OPERATIONAL DATA MANUAL TABLE OF CONTENTS
INTRODUCTION
Applicable to: ALL
In compliance with airworthiness regulations, an aircraft is capable to take off from any airport if the
weight allows it to achieve the takeoff, "en route", and landing performance.
The takeoff and landing performance included in this chapter was calculated using Performance
Engineer's Programs/AFM_OCTO with approved FM module.
The data provided by this chapter must be used in conjunction with the gross weight, operational and
environmental limitations.
The following rules included in this chapter are in accordance with Airbus recommendations. This
manual should be considered as the official publication regarding takeoff analysis reading rules. It is
not recommended to use any training material or other non-approved facility to obtain limiting weights
and speeds in cockpit.
AIRCRAFT CONFIGURATION
Applicable to: ALL
LANDING
‐ Slats/Flaps: 3 or FULL
‐ Landing distances for dispatch established with brake pedals applied right after main landing
gear touchdown, brakes supplied by green hydraulic system, antiskid ON and using ground
spoilers.
BRAKE TEMPERATURE MONITORING
The flight crew must determine the minimum cooling time if Brake Temperature Indication on the
WHEEL SD page is received. Refer to MEL for detailed procedures.
In case of BRAKES HOT indication, refer to FCOM Abnormal and Emergency Procedures.
SPEEDS DEFINITIONS
Applicable to: ALL
V1
V1 is the highest speed at which the decision must be made:
‐ To continue the takeoff, or
‐ To stop the aircraft.
VR
VR is the speed at which rotation is initiated to reach V2 before an altitude of 35 ft on dry runway
or 15 ft on wet ruwway.
V2
V2 is the takeoff safety speed reached before the altitude of 35 ft, on dry runway, or 15 ft, on wet
runway, with one engine failed and providing not less than the minimum second segment gradient
for 2-engine aircraft (2.4 %).
DISTANCES DEFINITIONS
Applicable to: ALL
STOPWAY (SWY)
Extension to runway, adequate for deceleration of the aircraft in the case of aborted takeoff.
CLEARWAY (CWY)
Area beyond the runway which can be taken into account for TOD calculation.
TAKEOFF DISTANCE AVAILABLE (TODA)
Sum of the TORA and the CWY available.
TAKEOFF RUN AVAILABLE (TORA)
Length of runway available and suitable for the ground run of an aircraft taking off.
ACCELERATE-STOP DISTANCE AVAILABLE (ASDA)
Sum of the TORA and the SWY available.
TAKEOFF DISTANCE (TOD)
Distance covered from the brake release to a point at which the aircraft is at the 35 ft height (15 ft
height on wet runway). The TOD must not exceed the TODA.
INTRODUCTION
Applicable to: ALL
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has developed a single system for determining
the weight limitation of aircraft operating on runway pavements by a procedure of comparing
Pavement Classification Number (PCN) with an Airplane Classification Number (ACN). If the aircraft
ACN is equal to or less than the PCN it can operate without weight restriction. This system replaces
all previous methods used by airport authorities to report the runway pavement capabilities.
ACN varies according to the pavement type, subgrade strength category and aircraft weight, hence it
follows that there is no fixed ACN.
ACN/PCN METHOD
Applicable to: ALL
Information on pavement type, subgrade strength, maximum allowable tire pressure and evaluation
method are reported using the following codes:
Pavement Type
Code Description
R Rigid pavement (concrete, cement)
F Flexible pavement (asphalt)
Subgrade Strength Category
Code Description
A High
B Medium
C Low
D Ultra low
Tire Pressure Category
Code Description
W High (no pressure limit)
X Medium (pressure limited to 1.50 mPa = 218 PSI)
Y Low (pressure limited to 1.00 mPa = 145 PSI)
Z Very low (pressure limited to 0.50 mPa = 73 PSI)
Evaluation Method
Code Description
T Technical evaluation
U Using aircraft experience
The main landing gear tire pressure for A319 with MTOW 64.0 ton is 173 PSI.
The main landing gear tire pressure for A319 with MTOW 75.5 ton is 200 PSI.
The following example illustrates pavement strength is reported in ACN/PCN method:
PCN 40/F/B/W/T
OVERLOAD OPERATIONS
Occasional minor overloading operation is acceptable, when expedient, with only limited loss
in pavement life expectancy and relatively small acceleration of pavement deterioration. For
those operations in which magnitude of overload and/or frequency of use do not justify a detailed
analysis are suggested as ACN not exceeding 10 per cent above reported PCN for flexible
pavements and not exceeding 5 per cent for rigid, composite or unknown structure.
The annual number of overload movements should not exceed approximately 5 per cent of
the total aircraft movements and should be avoided during any period of thaw following frost
penetration or when the strength of the pavement or its subgrade could be weakened by water.
The following tables show the maximum permissible weight for A319-100, with MSTOW 75 500 kg,
as a function of PCN and type of operation (standard or overload) on rigid pavement.

CLIMB GRADIENT
Applicable to: ALL
The table below can be used as a guidance to enable the flight crew to determine the all-engine
climb gradient that can be archived during the departure phase.
Determine the airport and the reference altitudes. Find the actual takeoff configuration table. Read
both all-engine climb gradients in the appropriate line according to the takeoff weight.
Example:
‐ CONF 1+F
‐ Airport elevation: 2,000 ft
‐ Reference altitude: 5,000 ft
‐ TOW: 70,000 kg
‐ Average all-engine climb gradient from 2,000 ft to 5,000 ft: (10.7 + 10.2)/2 = 10.4
INTRODUCTION

INFLUENCES
Applicable to: ALL
1. Influence of wind.
For each takeoff configuration column, corrections for wind (-10 kt / 10 kt) are shown.
If performing TOGA takeoff, apply the weight correction on MTOW and the V1/VR/V2 corrections
on the speeds associated with the MTOW (MAXIMUM Takeoff Weight). If performing flexible
takeoff, apply the weight correction on MTOW, TFLEX correction and the V1/VR/V2 corrections on
the speeds associated with the ATOW (ACTUAL Takeoff Weight).
2. Influence of air conditioning.
For each takeoff configuration column, corrections for air conditioning are shown.
If performing TOGA takeoff, apply the weight correction on MTOW and the V1/VR/V2 correction on
the speeds associated with the MTOW. If performing flexible takeoff, apply the weight correction
on MTOW and TFLEX correction.
3. Influence of QNH.
For each takeoff configuration column, corrections for QNH (-10 hPa / +10 hPa) are shown.
If performing TOGA takeoff, apply the weight correction on MTOW and the V1/VR/V2 correction on
the speeds associated with the MTOW. If performing flexible takeoff, apply the weight correction
on MTOW and TFLEX correction.
It is possible to interpolate and extrapolate the QNH corrections.
CAUTION After applying the TFLEX correction, the crew must check if the actual flexible
temperature is within the limits.
FOOTER
Applicable to: ALL
1. ‐ TREF. Flat rating temperature in °C, above which, the temperatures can be considered as
flexible.
‐ TMAX. Maximum certified outside air temperature for takeoff in °C.
‐ Minimum acceleration height. It is defined by the regulatory agency, company policy or obstacle
clearance, whichever is higher. As a default, it is considered 400 ft. If different, this field is
emphasized.
‐ Maximum acceleration height. It is defined by the maximum TOGA thrust time of 10 minutes
with one engine inoperative, according to AFM certification.
2. Reference speeds for corrections.
These speeds must be checked if:
‐ Two or three speeds corrections from influences are applied on MTOW associated speeds.
If performing TOGA thrust takeoff and a corrected MTOW speed fall below the reference, the
takeoff is not permitted and flight crew/flight dispatcher must request a specific analysis for the
actual situation, and/or
‐ The ATOW is below the lowest TOW shown in the analysis, for the specific takeoff
configuration.
Apply the correction for each ton while the speed does not reach the reference speed.
3. Check VMU Limitation.
4. Correction for lower TOW.
Refer to Correction for lower TOW.
V2 LIMITED BY VMU
Applicable to: ALL
The following table shows the minimum V2 limited by VMU, valid for aiport altitude from 0 ft to 9000
ft. The speeds were calculated using Performance Engineer's Programs and may be slightly different
from FCOM.
Weight (1000 kg)

2 118 124 130 136 141 146 151
3 118 124 130 136 141 146 151
If ATOW is lower than maximum permissible TOW shown in the last row of the takeoff analysis, for a
given takeoff configuration, the correction for lower takeoff weights must be applied as follows.
IF LAST ROW V1, VR AND V2 ARE ALL ABOVE THE REFERENCE SPEED AND VMU
LIMITATION
1. Reduce the speeds related to the maximum permissible weight shown in the last by 1.0 for each
ton of difference between ATOW and last row TOW.
2. Stop decreasing all speeds as soon as one of the speeds is equal to the corresponding
Reference Speed.
3. Use the decreased speeds for takeoff.
Example:
Speeds in the last row 113/15/25
Correction for lower TOW (diff = 3 ton) -3/-3/-3
Reference speeds 109/10/18
VMU limitation 124
Final takeoff speeds 110/12/22
Example:
Speeds in the last row 110/15/21
Correction for lower TOW (diff = 3 ton) -3/-3/-3

CORRECTIONS APPLICATIONS
Applicable to: ALL
When necessary, correction on the takeoff analysis must be applied in the following order:
1. Influence of delta wind
2. Influence of air conditioning
3. Influence of delta pressure
4. Correction for lower TOW
WHEN TOGA TAKEOFF IS PERFORMED
If TOGA takeoff is intended to be performed, apply:
‐ MTOW influence corrections on MTOW read from OAT and takeoff configuration
Note: Check if ATOW is still lower than corrected MTOW.
‐ Speeds influence correction on the speeds related to MTOW (in case of Air Conditioning ON)
‐ Speeds influence correction on the speeds related to MTOW (in case of QNH correction)
‐ Speeds influence correction on the speeds related to MTOW (in case of Wind Correction)
‐ Speeds correction for lower TOW on the speeds related to the last row maximum permissible
weight
Note: Check if corrected speeds related to ATOW are equal to or above the reference
speeds.
‐ Retain the speeds associated with ATOW only if they are all lower than the corrected speeds
related to the MTOW.
If they are not all lower, retain the speeds associated with MTOW.
WHEN FLEXIBLE TAKEOFF IS PERFORMED
If flex takeoff is intended to be performed, apply:
‐ MTOW influence corrections on MTOW read from OAT and takeoff configuration
Note: Check if ATOW is still lower than corrected MTOW.
‐ Temperature influence correction on temperature associated with the ATOW
Note: Check if corrected flex temperature is higher than OAT and TREF and lower than
TFLEX MAX.
‐ Speeds influence correction on the speeds related to ATOW (in case of Wind Correction)
Note: Check if corrected speeds related to ATOW are equal to or above the reference
speeds.
‐ Speeds correction for lower TOW on the speeds related to the last row maximum permissible
weight
Note: Check if corrected speeds related to ATOW are equal to or above the reference
speeds.
‐ Retain the lowest speeds associated with ATOW obtained from the previous steps.
Retain the corrected flex temperature, if it is within the limits. If not, perform TOGA takeoff and
apply the correction in accordance.
LANDING TABLE
Applicable to: ALL
Note: The MLW shown in Airport Landing Table should be a reference for dispatch.
Independently of the weight and temperature shown in this table, use QRH to determine
the landing distance and landing judgment.
CAUTION 'N/A' means the operation is Not Allowed.
The flight crew and/or flight dispatcher must check the MLW prior to takeoff. The MLW is the
lowest between the Maximum Performance Landing Weight and Maximum Weight limited by PCN.
In case of NOTAM and/or failures prior to takeoff, the landing distance available table must be
used.
Note: The Landing Distance Available is the lenght of runway declared available and suitable
for the ground run of an aircraft landing. In most cases, this corresponds to the physical
lenght of the runway pavement.
At the beggining of the LDA, the aircraft is estimated to be at 50 ft.
LANDING DISTANCE AVAILABLE TABLE
The landing distance available provides the maximum performance landing weight based on the
LDA, 40°C, for winds -10 kt, 0 kt and 10 kt, and elevations from 0 ft to 5 000 ft.
This table also provides data for one brake inoperative, and for one, two or all spoilers inoperative.
It should be used when the airport is not located in Airport Landing Table, in case of NOTAM or
failures before takeoff. For failures after takeoff, this table can be used as a reference. FCOM
and/or QRH distances and corrections should be used for landing distance determination.
LANDING COMPUTATION
Applicable to: ALL
To fill the Landing Computation in a proper way, the flight crew must undestand that the fields MLW
and LW have different purposes and, therefore, there is no relation between them.
The MLW defines what is the Maximum Landing Weight for a specific airport, taking into
consideration the landing configuration, the runway in use and the runway condition (dry or wet).
The TW defines what is the maximum possible tailwind for the Actual Landing Weight, taking into
consideration the landing weight restriction for each tilwind knot.
CAUTION The Maximum Tailwind, found in this manual, and more restrictive limitation due to
airline policy (i.e. SBSP wet runway = 0 kt) must be respected.
‐ TW
Write the maximum tailwind for the actual landing weight. This value is obtained through the
values presented in "INFLUENCE OF DELTA WIND (TON)" field, found in Airport Landing Table
chapter of this manual.
‐ Calculation
To find the maximum possible tailwind for the actual landing weight, perform the following steps.
1. Subtract the actual landing weight of the maximum landing weight
2. Divide this difference by the influence of delta wind
‐ Example
A319-132, runway 11, CONF Full, ALW 57.4 ton
TW Dry = 62.5 - 57.4 / 0.48 = 10.625
TW Wet = 62.5 - 57.4 / 1.02 = 5.0

OPERATIONAL DATA MANUAL TABLE OF CONTENTS
TAKEOFF CONTINGENCY
Applicable to: ALL
The performance given in the takeoff chart is consistent with the flight path specified for the aircraft
with one engine out and takes into account significant obstacles.
The acceleration height (or altitude) ensures that the net flight path clears the highest obstacle by
at least 35 ft when accelerating in level flight to green dot speed after an engine failure, in the most
adverse conditions.
In case of engine failure, this chapter provides the procedure to be followed. If no specific EOSID
was developed, as an airline policy, it is reccommended for the flight crew to maintain runway
heading until reaching 500 ft above the highest obstacle nearby the airport or in accordance with
ATC instructions. The altitude and direction of the highest obstacle is shown in this chapter.
