sensor)
- Malfunction „Cable defect oil temp.“ (Control of oil temperature sensor)

- Malfunction „LIMITS TOO HIGH“ (Investigate target / limit values!)

If one of these malfunctions occurs, it will lead to the shut-down of the com-
pressor. The red LED lights up until the malfunction has been acknowledged.
Acknowledging with the 0 key is only possible if in the meantime you have
eliminated the cause of the error.

3.4.2 Warnings: (Warning triangle symbol ashes)

- Warning „MAIN PRESS. WARN.“ (Pressure > safety pressure - 0.3bar)
- Warning „COMP.TEMP.WARN.“ (Temp. > max compress. temp. - 5°C)
The compressor is not shut off in the case of a warning. The red light ashes until the
cause of the warning has been eliminated.
The output A01.6 output is additionally set as soon as a warning message appears in
the display. (Contact closes)
Normally a malfunction or warning is immediately displayed in the 2nd line of the oper-
ating display unit. However, if the operator has pressed the INFO key in order to input
target and limit values, the malfunction / warning text is only displayed when the user
returns to the basic display, but at the latest 3 minutes after the last key has been
depressed.

Page 13
3.5 Information regarding the program:

3.5.1 Operating status:

a) The compressor is switched off:

- the green LED is off

- the „Motor „ and „Solenoid valve“ symbols are off (LCD)

b) The compressor has been turned on but the current pressure is still
higher than the cut-in pressure (starting safety):

- the green LED ashes

- the „Motor „ and „Solenoid valve“ symbols are off

c) The compressor has been turned on but the compressor temperature

is still below +1°C:

- the green LED ashes

- the „Motor „ and „Solenoid valve“ symbols are off
- the message „OIL TEMP. TOO LOW“ appears.

d) The compressor is in operation, but the load valve is switched off, i.e.
the compressor is not compressing air (start-up phase or idle running)

- the green LED is on

- the „Motor“ symbol is on
- the „Load valve“ is off

e) The compressor is in operation and the load valve is switched on, i.e.
the compressor is compressing air (load operation):

- the green LED is on

- the „Motor“ symbol is on
- the „Load valve“ symbol is on

Page 14
3.5.2 Operating modes: (see also section 3.2.1)
a) AUTOMATIC operation:
After the cut-out pressure has been reached the system goes into „idle“
for the duration of the „idle running time“ (see 3.2.7). After the „idle run-
ning time“, the compressor switches off. (After the cut-out, the green
LED ashes ð ready for renewed start up). As soon as the pressure
drops to below the switch-on level, the system will start again.
b) LOAD / IDLING operation:
The compressor alternates between „Load“ and „Idle running“ operation,
i.e. it continues running on idling operation for an unlimited time.
c) OPT. AUTOMATIC operation:
When the system changes from LOAD to IDLE operation, the network
pressure is stored after 10 and 40 seconds.
Should the determined pressure drop be above the [PRE.DIFF.ABO]
threshold, the system remains in idle operation for the „long“ coasting
time (Section 3.2.7 /NO LOAD TIME), otherwise it switches off after the
„short“ coasting time (45 sec).
After every start up of the compressor motor an internal counter is
increased by 1 (number of start cycles). As soon as this counter has
reached the specied maximum number of operating cycles
[MAX. MOT STRT.], the motor does not switch off after the coasting
time, but remains in idle operation until the counter reading has once
again fallen below the appropriate threshold [MAX. MOT STRT.].
After the cyclic elapsing of a time (tsp = 3600s / MAX. MOT STRT.) the
counter will be reduced by 1.
3.5.3 Switching on procedure:
If the current network pressure is higher than the switching on pressure when you
switch on the compressor, then the green LED ashes (ready for operation). Only
if the network pressure drops below the cut-in pressure the compressor goes into
operation, and the green LED remains illuminated.
If the compressor temperature is below +1°C then the message „OIL TEMP. TOO
LOW“ will appear, and the green LED will also ash. If the temperature climbs
over +1°C the compressor will start. (see also 3.5.7).
3.5.4 Cut-out procedure:
If the compressor is switched off via the 0 key (or via the remote OFF), then
initially it will switch to idle running.
The message „NO LOAD #### S“ will appear and will remain show the time until
switch-off of the unit.
(As time here the Start delay time is used / see 3.2.7). Only after this time is the
system will completely switch off.
3.5.5 Standstill time:
(see Section 3.5.10/automatic restart)
Page 15
3.5.6 Safety pressure: („P_SAF.“)
The safety pressure is the set cut-out pressure („P_MAX“) plus 0.8 bar.
Example: „P_MAX“ = 10.0 bar ð „P_SAF.“ = 10.8 bar

3.5.7 Auxiliary heating function: (See also 3.2.9 till 3.2.11).

a) „with heating“ / compressor is OFF / main switch is ON
If the oil temperature sinks below [C-TEMP.MIN], then the „auxiliary
heating“ output is switched on.
As soon as the oil temperature has reached [C-TEMP.MIN +3°C], the
heating is switched off again.
b) „with heating“ / compressor is ON
When the oil temperature is below the cut-out temperature (-3°C),
(see 3.2.9), the auxiliary heating is switched on again.
As soon as the cut out temperature has been reached, or if the compres-
sor has been switched off, the heating goes off again.
c) „without heating“
In this case, the heating is never switched on.
The compressor can only be started when the compressor tem-
perature has reached the +1°C threshold.
If the output for the auxiliary heating has been switched on, then a point
is shown on the display before the temperature (.065°C).

3.5.8 Maintenance intervals:

Actual values see: 3.1 / target values see: 3.2.6

a) Maintenance request
The appropriate values are counted down to 0. As soon as one of these intervals
is less than 100 hours, the appropriate message is displayed, and the red LED
ashes (ð warning). Although this message can be deleted by the 0 key, it will
appear again after !one minute. To acknowledge this message nally, the code
0021 has to be entered, and then the 0 key depressed. In this way the interval
concerned is put back to the pre-allocated target value.
The A01.6 output is additionally set as soon as a maintenance message appears
in the display. (Contact closes)
b) 1st maintenance for „Oil/oil lter“:
After the rst maintenance, the target value for the maintenance interval for the
„oil/oil lter“ is automatically changed from 500 to 2000 hours.

Page 16
3.5.9 Basic setting of the system data:

Enter code 0088 ð All parameters which can be set are set to xed basic
values.
(NOTE: data which has previously been set manually will be overwritten!)

3.5.10 Procedure in the case of „automatic restart“:

If the „automatic restart after power failure „ has been programmed, the display
„AUTOM.REST. ## S“ will appear once the power supply has been restored. It
will run for the length of time which has been pre-entered in „START DELAY ##
S“. If the system had been in operation before the power supply failure, then it
will restart after the end of this period of time, otherwise it will then remain in stop
mode. The message „POWER LOSS“ does not appear after the power has been
restored if „AUTORESTART“ has been activated.
