What I have learned
—When we have free time, we often watch TV and sometimes we swim in the sea, or
when my siblings and I bond, we play badminton.

What I can do
1. Board Games like, scrabble and Chess/Dama
2. Watching TV
3. Doing house chores/General Cleaning in our house
4. Reading books or answering our modules

—This is what I listed because we often do it inside our house during pandemic, so I
can be sure that everyone in my family will participate in it.

Lesson 2: Aquatics
Activity 1: Guess What?
1. SWIMMING
2. FISHING
3. DIVING
4. RAFTING
5. SAILING
What is it?
In our community, there are many recreational activities that we can do before the
pandemic. It includes basketball, volleyball, badminton, sepak-takraw, and many more.
Since our barangay has it own court which is open for everyone, people from other
barangays come to our place to play. There is also one thing that we are proud of in this
area, this is the what we called “baura,” or the Vanishing Island/Sand Bar. It is often
visited by people in other barangay’s, where they need to use a boat to get there. And
the other place too which is more common to everyone who wants to bathe in the sea,
is the "mabato" area, which is really the most visited place because of its beautiful view.
Due to the fact that our community is frequented by people who wants to enjoy and
relax, someone has built a beach resort. This is the first beach resort built in our
community, which is named as (ABP) or Attorney’s Beach Place. In our community,
there are lots of things to do, especially the traditional games like “patentero,” “tumbang
preso,” “habulan,” “tagu-taguan,” and many more.

Activity 2: Kung Maibabalik ko Lang

Before the quarantine period, me and my family climb a mountain which is just at
the back of our house. Since it was just an all of a sudden activity, each of us should
really participate on preparing the things needed, from the picnic snacks, the sheets to
be used, and clothes to wear once we are already on top. During our hike, some of us
cannot catch up well, because the path is really on a very diagonal manner preventing
us to climb well. Those who can climb well will help those who can’t by using their hand
as support to go further. Children who are already tired where piggy backed by our
grandfather and uncle. It was so fun and enjoying, even though it’s too hard to climb.
Because even though we experience difficulty we still manage to laugh and tell jokes.
I’ve learned from the activity that, for a team to succeed, everyone should cooperate.
Also, one thing to consider is the interest of the members. If a member is not interested
you will fully enjoy what you are doing and would only complain. Lastly, the most
remarkable lesson I’ve learned is, we all experiences difficulty, we should care to lend
for each other and when we are already moving up, never forget who are those behind
you who supports and cheer for you.

Activity 3: My Bucket List?

Reflection:
This drawing illustrates family reading. This is what I want to do for my family and
me after this pandemic, because I want to go back to the times when dad and mom still
taught me to read and write. This thing stuck in my mind because in those moments,
they were both teaching me. I also wanted my youngest sister to experience how we
would completely teach her to read and write so that she would learn and enjoy  it as
well, because we were completely beside her teaching her. And then I want Mama and
Papa to read us a children’s story so that we can imagine the times when we can’t sleep
together. Mama and Papa will tell us a children’s story so that we can sleep.

What I have Learned

Based on the lesson, different aquatic recreational facilities to the family and the
community as a whole as it;

a. Create way for awareness on how to survive on a disaster which

involves water specifically tsunami and storm surge. In most aquatic
facilities, one of their major activity is swimming, such water facilities will
eager the community to try swimming. This will give a sort of fun and
excitement for the family and the community. If some calamities involving
water to happen, knowing how to swim is important to survive.

b. Create a physically fit members of a community. Some activities done in a

aquatic recreational facilities are considered as sport activities, we know that
sport activities if taken seriously could make the athlete fit. That’s why most
people living in the coastal areas have a great body.

c. Source of food and income. For activities like fishing, it is not only
relaxation; it can also be a source of food especially for those who live in the
coastal area and sometimes they sell it on the market.

What I can do
The best aquatic activity that can be done at home is swimming. Since we don’t have
rubber pool we will create another artificial pool instead. On a large space in front of our
house, we will build a rectangle of cement sack containing black sand which will same
from the river a few meters nearby. It will be 9 meters long, 3 meters wide and 2 feet
deep. After the rectangle is done, we will secure it with fish net 3 times. Then, we will
place the tarpaulin on the rectangle which will be the pool itself. We will make sure that
it is just right for the pool’s measurement. After securing the pool, we can now fill it full
of water. Prepare some snacks. Have fun and relax.

Activity 2: Simple Recall
Ever since I became a student, I really join any competitions or activities that
catches my interest and one of this is joining camp. When I was on my sixth grade I get
to experience what a true camp is when my teacher chose me to represent our school
on the provincial jamboree.

It was full of fun activities, from doing the traditional activities done in a camp like
a torch parade, flag race and etc. It was a 3 day camp. On the first day, we arrived at
the location and put up our tent. After that, we were given time to eat our snacks and fix
our things. Later in the afternoon, everyone were tasked to fall in line for attendance.
That is when the flag race happened. In the evening, we did the torch parade and
lighting up of the bonfire. While the bonfire is pretty bright, each districts were tasked to
perform their chants. On our chant, I cannot forget the line “Give me oil in my lamp,
keep me burning” because it represent the activities making me more active and
discovering on where is my passion, on what aspect. After that we headed back on our
headquarters to sleep. On day 2, different activities were done like crossing obstacles,
seminars on how to survive on camp and climbing the mountain to gather woods. In the
evening a pageant was done. Luckily our represented won. That is how it ended. On the
last day, we exercise a bit, do some tasks and games and proceed to the awarding. It
ended almost 4pm in the afternoon.

I really enjoyed my experience specially when I made a lot of friends that I still
talk to until now. To summarize all my learning on that camp, it is be a girl scout who is
always ready, practice cooperating, and enjoy.

Activity 3: Camping for Fun

When we plan the camping, some members of the family suggested different
activities like making bonfire while grilling hotdogs and marshmallows, watch movie and
first to create star creature race. Evaluating these activities, it was all exciting especially
for the kinds who haven’t experience it yet. During the camp, it really gave relaxation to
us especially to my mom since she worked the whole day and tired when she came
home. Seeing us enjoy and laughing makes her enjoy the moment too. A camping like
that is not a common thing for our family, but when done, it is really worth it.

Reflection:
Participating in outdoor activities with the family or with other people is important
because, it is a way of to go along with the reality. Besides it strengthens your
connection to them. Aside from that, it relieves stress and toxicity from day to day
routine. Doing outdoor recreational activity with love ones contribute significant changes
to me as they help me in honing myself. There is this topic in philosophy that a certain
person shapes itself by the influence of others. If we get to hangout to our loved ones
we get to be influence by them.
