i. Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois: He was an American Negro. He condemned racial
discrimination and urged Negros to struggle and win equality with white.
He was a prolific writer who influenced Negroes everywhere through his
publications and addressed.
ii. Marcus Aureluis Gavey. He was black Jamaican who proved to be the
most military leaders of Pan-African movement the founded the Universal
Negro Improvement Association (UNIA). His avowed aim was to unite all
Negro peoples of the world into one great body and establish a country
and government absolutely their i.e. went further to launch a Black for
Africa Movement meant to accelerate the realization of his goal.

446.Gavey urged all African everywhere to face the challenge of self-


determination squarely. Hear Gavey, “Wake-up Africa let us work towards
the one glorious and a free, redeemed and mighty nation”, he stressed that
Africa is for Africans, Europe for the European and America for the
American.

act guaranteed that the white got the best education while the black
got poor education.
vi. Group Areas Act: This act ensures that the black did not live in the
same area with the white.
Other Acts included population registration Act Bantu authorities act. Separate
representative of voters Act, industrial conciliation Act and the National Labour
(Settlement of dispute) Act.
