Direction: Let’s pay particular attention to the stages that correspond to schooling – early
childhood, middle and late childhood, and adolescence.

1. What are the implications of these developmental tasks to your role as a facilitator of
learning:
1.1. Early Childhood -What are preschool teachers supposed to do with preschoolers?
It is in early childhood that children develop readiness skills. Thus, preschool teachers
are supposed to teach them basin fundamentals like numbers, shapes and colors. They
also help children develop their social skills by allowing and giving them time to play
with their peers.

1.2. Middle and Late Childhood – Elementary school teachers ought to help their pupils by
Elementary school teachers ought to help their pupils by guiding them in their mastery
reading, writing and arithmetic. As children are exposed to the larger world and its
culture, the teacher is responsible to encourage and establish behavioral rules and
procedures to ensure that children learn and maintain order.

1.3. Adolescence – High school teachers ought to help their pupils by

during a particular age period to continue development.
