ESP for College of Computer Education Syllabus

This chapter presents the course syllabus for Information Technology students based on the results of the needs analysis.
The four macro skills: Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading were given importance for the syllabus. This course will be
completed in 24 hours. This course syllabus was based to the English for Academic Purposes.
The needs analysis was conducted to investigate the competencies and skills that our target learner needed. This course
design will focus to the performance skills of the English language to be developed in a specific target situation. Thus, the course
design emphasizes the four macro skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing through course assessment evaluation.

Course Title: The ESP for College of Computer Education

COURSE OUTCOME

1. Enhance the skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing;

2. Develop communication skills for social purposes;

3. Apply relevant ideas and knowledge necessary for Information Technology students.

4. Practice their speaking skills through social interaction.

5. Enhance vocabulary by writing the given topic correctly.
