Video editing is the process of manipulating and rearranging video shots to create a
new work.
Goals of Video Editing
1. Remove unwanted footage
2. Choose the best footage
3. Create a flow
4. Add effects, graphics, music, etc
5. Alter the style, pace or mood of the video
6. Give the video a particular "angle"

Nonlinear Video Editing (NLVE)

method is a way of random-access editing, which means instant access to whatever
clip you want, whenever you want it.

TOOLS

V Selection tool
The default tool,
used to select clips in the
timeline.
Track Select tool
M Select all clips on a track from
a given point, or select multiple
tracks.
Ripple Edit tool
Adjust an edit point and move
B other clips in the timeline to
compensate.
Rolling Edit tool
Adjust an edit point between
N two clips without affecting
the rest of the timeline.

X Rate Stretch tool

Change the duration of a clip while
simultaneously changing the speed
to compensate.

C Razor tool
Cut a clip (or multiple clips) into
two clips.

Slip tool
Y Move a clip's in and out points by the
same amount simultaneously, so the
rest of the timeline is not affected.

Slide tool
U Move a clip back and forth in the
timeline, while simultaneously
adjusting adjacent clips to
compensate.

view, or drag and select a rectangular

Used to create text anywhere in the

It is where we can pre-cut the footage from raw.

It is where we can see what is selected in our timeline.

It is where we edit and make cut of our footage.

Effects and Effect Control

Effects
Where you can find the needs for sound effects, color presets, video effects and
transitions.
Effect Controls
Where we can make adjustment of our effects from resizing, positioning, opacity and
animation.
Workspace
A bar or tab where we choose our workspace stage of our post production.
Caption Bar
Workspace where we create subtitle and caption.
Rendering and Finalization
Finalization and were put every piece of the video into final output.
