It encompasses mass communication
through printed material.

It is used to describe the traditional or


"old fashioned" print-based media that
today's parents grew up with

Broadcast Media
It was first adopted by early radio
engineers from the Midwestern
United States to refer to the
analogous dissemination of radio
signals.

Broadcasting to a narrow range of


audience is called narrowcasting.

Film/cinema Media

It encompasses individual motion pictures.

Films are produced by recording images from


the world with cameras, or by creating images
using animation techniques or special effects.

New Media
Dital media that are
interactive, incorporate two-
way communication and
involve some form of
computing

Social Media
Forms of electronic
communication (such as
web sites) through
which people create
online communities to
share information,
ideas, personal
messages, etc.
