The Emotional Self Activity

Write a reflective essay with two or more paragraphs about your learning,
realizations, observations, and experiences relating to the topic.

As we grow up, we face experiences that often marks on our mind and
our emotions. We tend to slowly express our emotions and learn to open up with
others. Sometimes, we suppress our emotions and to just deal with it alone.

Everyone of us passes every stage of the emotional development. From

our cutest smile to express happiness, to the sincerest smile to express gratitude,
up to our little smiles that hides our pain. We started to be attached to people who
are always with us, we start to make friends and wants to be part of the circle but as
time goes by, we realize that it doesn’t matter how many friends you have, it’s the
genuineness that matters. We mature and care for people.

Growing up we learn to cry when we’re hurt, when in pain. We cry

when we lost something or someone, but then, time goes by when tears don’t fall
anymore, when the words we used to say became silence. Many was enjoyable, but
having less was peaceful.

We express emotions in different ways. We send letters, we give

flowers, we treat them, bring them to different places. We exert efforts. We give
time for them and we know every detail there is that we have to know.

As a saying goes, “Feel the feeling but don’t become the emotion.
Witness it, allow it, release it,”. We should not be a captive of our emotions. Let
ourselves feel the pain but we shouldn’t stay in it. Let us express anger but never
over used it. Limit ourselves when expressing emotions for everything that goes
beyond the normal line have consequences.
