Vincent de Paul CCW Meeting Minutes


September 13, 2022
President Ann Hamus called the meeting to order. Opening prayer followed by Pledge of Allegiance and Salute to the Cross.
Members present: Ann Hamus, Kathy Johnson, Mary Ashbeck, Linda Milner, Pat Springer, Carol Reichert. Barb Trickle, Marcie
Erdmann, Judy Reimer, Betty Scholzen, Mary Sculley, Donna Filter, Cindy Konietzki, Marcia Schmidt, Ashley Heil, Mary Beth Rokus,
Fran Dent, Kathy Johnson. Welcome new attendee: Carol Saramandich.
Minutes reviewed. Pat moved and 2nd by Barb to accept minutes, motion approved. Correspondence Thank you from LOVE INC. and
Assumption Catholic School students read. Stacy Laramee dropped off a treat as thank you for ACS support
Treasurer –Report-Kathy Johnson: Yearly report given. May 10- Sept 13 Financial report: Beginning Balance $9512.41, Income
$985.25, Disbursal of $3,072.96 with a gross balance of $7,424.70 Designated money $1,164.71. Net balance $6,259.99. Donna mo-
tioned and Linda 2nd to approve report, motion approved. Membership weekend - 52 members, more are anticipated. Water for life ex-
plained. Grant monies received for silverware, it will be kept in our storage area for Parish use. Mary Jo has expressed thanks for the
laptop purchased for Religious Ed and church use. Thanks to Judy for purchasing our tables for our use by the CCW.
Pat moved and second by Donna to elect Ann Hamus as our President, no other electors from the floor. Ann voted in.
Spirituality-not present
Leadership- Judy Reimer, Purchased Dynamic Catholic Books, will be displayed on the hall shelving. Confirmation prayer partners will
be coming when she gets the names from Mary Jo of Confirmands.
Social Justice Service- Position Open.
Prayer shawls and Quilt Club. Contact Karen Weinfurter. Always welcoming new members
Sunshine Cards: notice in bulletin for parishioners who CCW could send a card to. She has only received 1 request as of now.
Funeral dinners: Discussion on starting up funeral dinners, Sue had volunteered but is very busy with Inspire Campaign.
Socials Coordinator, not present. Discussion on starting socials again, possibly toward winter.
Welcoming new parishioners: Marcia Schmidt volunteered to take over new parishioner welcome baskets. Will have to let office know
to notify her and Ann. Motion by Ashley and 2nd by Betty to purchase needed items for basket. In the past baskets included St. V. pen
and pamphlet, cookies, prayer cards and small treats (cookies, tea, etc.), and welcome note from CCW president.
Ashley Heil proposed starting an outreach program for young adults. Something like a monthly craft night or social to draw young peo-
ple to the church. Would include an element of evangelization. She was asked to look into what it might cost and entail.
Rectory Project— We have spent $1,719.31 of the $2500 approved at past meetings for this project. This total is for all curtain ex-
penses, curtain rods, Bedding. etc. in visiting priests’ room, paint and supplies for cleaning kitchen and dining room, installation charge
for kitchen vinyl flooring. We have not yet received the bill for the flooring. That will conclude what we are doing at this time.
Motion by Mary A and second by Linda to donate $200 to Sister Carla Harrison in Peru, motion accepted.
Motion by Donna and second by Marcie to use up to $100 for the Inspire the Spirit reception on September 21st and 22nd per Fathers
request. Motion accepted.
Motion by Pat and accepted by Mary Beth to give our annual gift of $50 to St. Vincent school teachers and $25 to Religious Ed. Teach-
ers. Motion accepted.
Motion by Mary A. and second by Marcie to use blinds we have from Joan Koth and purchase the brackets and install them in the cry
room to fix glare problem.
Mary Sculley investigated the stain glass from the old windows. Says we could try selling them to parishioners who might want part of
our Parish beauty and history for their home. Discussed trying to sell them online or checking with the Cultural Art Center if they would
have an interest. Windows are very heavy, and some are not in great shape. Discussion was tabled until next meeting.

Judy Reimer has proposed we do the Baby Bottle Campaign for First Choice Pregnancy center. We will plan to do it in March if it is
okayed by Father Patric.
Cheeseball sale is coming. Kathy J and Mary A are in charge. Turn in order deadline will be October 30th, $7.00 per cheeseball. Will
need workers Nov. 4th from 2 to 5, Nov. 5th from 9:30-1:00, Nov. 6th from 11 to 2:00. Also looking for mixers, ricers, choppers.
Next meeting will be November 8th.
Fran won the floral door prize.
