Dear sir/madam,

I got to know about this PhD position. The thing that impressed me was the
match with requirements of the program and my background and interest in cognitive
neuropsychology. My passion for research started during my master’s while working upon
my research projects. They helped me a lot to shape my research skills and evolve as a good
critique which is equally important while writing research papers. The fascinating thing about
research that intrigues me the most is the way it helps an individual to design his own set of
problems and then attempt to solve these problems. I encountered this a lot during my
projects. This desire to solve problems in a limited time-frame while being part of a
challenging environment always drives me. It also helped to refine my analytical skills. I
experienced similar progress when collaborating with researcher Dr. Radhey Shyam. Good
communication skills also helped a lot during the discussions. I became an independent
researcher which is evident in my project works. Upon reflection on my past research
experience, another thing is that it taught me to be more adaptable with changing colleagues
and supervisors. To sum up, these qualities make me suitable for research work which I
would like to continue as a PhD candidate at Leipzig University.

Speaking about my master’s projects, here is the mentions of the topics Prevalence of autism
in children’s on the basis of gender, Level of ADHD in children’s, Relationship between
anxiety, depression, suicide in teenagers, Impact of COVID-19 on mental health of college
going students, Effect of COVID-19 on creativity of adults, Relationship between
mindfulness and self-efficacy, An investigation of the relationship between mindfulness and
happiness. In addition to that I am working on 3 personal research projects. My personal
research project work “To assess the fear of COVID-19 immunization across rural population
of Haryana” is under printing in open journal of public health. (ISSN: 2689-9388). My
research project “Parental education and quality of life among higher secondary students of
rural and urban segment in India: A cross sectional study” is under peer review in a journal.
My one research project “Assessing the hesitancy of COVID-19 vaccine among SARS- Cov-
2 infected individuals in rural segment of Haryana” will be presenting in a conference. I am
also interested to learn about the complex statistical methods and to learn how to design
behavioural experiments. Moreover, I want to conduct research in the future as I like to
simplify and explain different concepts on to the research context of designing, developing
and implementing, adaptive, flexible learning in the clinical psychology. . I even have around
10 months of experience of working with NADA India foundation. Now I am a behavioural
science research intern at FPL. Additionally, I am a research intern at Freed as well. As I’m
very passionate about learning more and different aspects of research.

It is evident I am really excited to think about these questions and look into the literature
encompassing these questions. Moreover, my background in psychology, with my master’s
and personal research projects and with my learning attitude and growth mind-set makes me
suitable to undertake this research. To add to it, my experience in conducting research in the
field of psychology also makes me suitable to accept these challenges. The research platform
like a PhD can be the best modus operandi to help the teachers, learners, learning process and
also make me a good researcher. The important thing before starting a PhD is the transition
into a dedicated research domain. Due to my optimistic attitude and adaptability to changing
circumstances, the transition to a newer domain has always been smooth in the past.

So, I am looking forward to have further discussion with you.

Yours sincerely,

Neha
