Pollution has become a very common yet serious issue in today’s world. It has been there in
different forms since a long time even before human evolution such as volcanic eruptions, wildfire
which lead to various photochemical reactions in the atmosphere. There are many types of
pollutions such as air pollution, water pollution and soil pollution. The current concern is that it is
rising day by day due to various resources of pollutants. One of the main pollutants are humans and
man-made machines. It is right to say that pollution is damaging the mother earth severely and we,
humans, should play our part to prevent it from happening. There are several ways to reduce
pollution such as organizing campaigns, reducing number of vehicles on the road and reducing the
usage of pesticides. 

Firstly, organizing campaigns to raise public awareness is one way to do it. Campaigns such as the
"Go Green" campaign, which encourages residents to plant more trees and utilise recyclable things
in their daily lives, can help raise awareness about the necessity of reducing pollution on the planet.
The "Earth Hour" is another worldwide event in which everyone is required to turn off all lights for
one hour in order to raise awareness about the necessity of reducing pollution on the planet by
limiting the use of electronic devices. Awareness can be instilled through education, such as
advertising on television and articles in newspapers on topics such as "How to Reduce Pollutions,"
"Pollution Consequences," and so on. As a result, pollution can be reduced by raising citizen
awareness.

Secondly, reducing the number of vehicles on the road will also aid in the reduction of global air
pollution. The more vehicles are used, the more hazardous chemicals such as hydrocarbons,
nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and sulphur dioxides are emitted into the air, causing major air
pollution. Cars, trucks, and motorcycles should be used much less because the gases emitted by
these vehicles contribute to the greenhouse effect. However, these pollutions can be reduced when
citizens practice the habit of car-pooling and the usage of public transport like bus, trains, monorails
and many more. In addition, citizens can walk or cycle to near destinations instead of driving which
will lead to lesser air pollution. Therefore, reducing the usage of vehicles by no doubt can reduce air
and sound pollutions.

Last but not least, using less pesticides is one way to reduce pollution.Natural fertilisers should be
used for plants. After that, dispose of hazardous materials like paint, motor oil, and toxics safely.
Also, littering is prohibited, especially near or in water sources. In order to raise public awareness,
organise a community clean-up effort along a river or lake. Besides, strict monitor on factories by the
government can also contribute in reducing pollution as they are the ones who causes most of the
air pollution and water pollution on earth when disposing toxic gases into the air and harmful waste
into the water. Therefore, pollution can be reduced by reducing the usage of pesticides.

In the nutshell, to eliminate pollution, people should work together. So that future generations
would be able to enjoy a healthy environment. People should take various precautions and
measures to maintain a healthy living environment.
